24/5/2024 08:21 | Great News ! | chinese investor
24/5/2024 08:11 | Well, this is like an early Christmas present and Turkey Free at that. Breakup of Abrdn might be on the cards. | mcunliffe1
24/5/2024 08:02 | Shareholders and staff alike will be relieved at this news I'd suggest.Let's hope Windsor (or whoever) can bring some stability and more importantly growth back to the company.Obligatory 'garden leave' to allow those options to vest included of course... | marketmuser
24/5/2024 07:15 | Bye Bye Bird or should that be Brd. | skinny
24/5/2024 07:02 | Thank goodness! Christmas has come early and about time. Onwards and upwards. spud | spud
24/5/2024 06:56 | If not before, it must be a takeover target now... BUY ME written all over it (for ii) | netcurtains
24/5/2024 06:49 | Will be interesting to see how the .arket takes it | gemlotte55
24/5/2024 06:45 | I always thought the writing was on the wall for him when they brought in Windsor from Aviva. Why would such an obviously highly qualified and competent figure leave a CFO role in a firm which was/is turning itself around in the FTSE 100 to take the same role in one facing problems in the 250? My bet is that Bird was a sitting duck from that moment. | unastubbs
24/5/2024 06:29 | Talking of which that is what I will be doing today What took them so long but Flint should be thrown out of the Bird's nest at the same time. Makes Abdn a target in light of the HL saga currently unfolding but I prefer to wait and see in the current climate Good luck everyone | jubberjim
24/5/2024 06:10 | "garden leave with effect from 1 July to 31 December 2024 inclusive" | chinese investor
24/5/2024 06:08 | abrdn launches CEO succession plan abrdn plc ("abrdn" or "the Group") today announces that it is beginning the process of moving to fresh leadership, having completed the critical first stage of its transformation into a modern and digitally-focused specialist asset and wealth management company. Following the significant strategic repositioning of the company, the Board and Group CEO, Stephen Bird, have together agreed that it is the right time for Stephen to hand over the reins to the team he has assembled over the last four years to drive the business forward. Jason Windsor, currently Group Chief Financial Officer, has today been appointed as Interim Group CEO, subject to regulatory approval, while a formal search process, which will include consideration of external candidates, is completed. Jason will focus on the execution of the Group's strategy and transformation plans, and Stephen will work alongside Jason until 30th June, which marks the four-year anniversary of his appointment, to ensure a smooth handover. Got to be good news going forward ! | garycook
24/5/2024 06:07 | The Bird has flown. | chinese investor
23/5/2024 13:37 | Brought in £114m p.a. profit...similar to what AJ Bell just printed (£64m half year). AJ is valued at about £1.5bn now so II might be back to what abrdn paid for it.Advisor brought in about the same profit so might be worth similar.Add in the Phx holding and you are kicking £3.5bn of value...which means the Investment side is being valued at or less than zero, despite producing £50m of profits last time out. | marketmuser
23/5/2024 08:15 | You may well be correct net. I'm paying them £12.99 each month for my SIPP platform fee - a cost I am very happy to pay - as I am NOW out of my promotional six-month free period. Corrected the capitalised word NOW as it previously read not. Sorry | mcunliffe1
23/5/2024 07:55 | MCunLiffe1: I think ii etc did not do so well last year as ABDN was actively expanding the business.. But perhaps this year, we will see the fruits of that expansion in profits. Touchwood.. | netcurtains
23/5/2024 07:48 | I was thinking what lucky timing. We both bought on Tuesday and this morning as I read about the HL bid I did wonder if ii may also be a target. | mcunliffe1
23/5/2024 07:45 | ABDN possibly could be a potential bid target...... ii is clearly undervalued..... | netcurtains
23/5/2024 07:24 | HL. apparently its most likely due to HL. bid The market has woken up to the fact that ii is miles undervalued look at HL. share price | netcurtains
23/5/2024 07:13 | "big" rise this morning | netcurtains
22/5/2024 10:09 | someone is peering over the blue wall... 😀 | netcurtains
21/5/2024 16:03 | Aww! Why can't I get as many down-ticks as you net? What's the trick? ;-) | mcunliffe1
21/5/2024 15:15 | MCunLiffe1: That was my thinking, and as an insurance, if it all goes pear-shaped I've still got the dividend to fall back on... | netcurtains
21/5/2024 14:49 | I also bought at 15:40 today. Avg cost at 152.175p given deal and tax. A 15-20p movement upwards and I'll be happy to sell the whole lot again as I did twice either side of xmas/new year. | mcunliffe1 |
