09/4/2024 06:47 | Sometimes you just have to laugh. Sadly it's AT them rather than WITH them :-/ | cwa1

08/4/2024 15:48 | like it Aleman. It's amazing how readable it is without the vowels. You left the A in Abrdn and an i in if though. :-) | mcunliffe1
08/4/2024 15:37 | The telegraph comments should cheer him up if he reads them, he realise he could please all the people all the time if he changed the daft name. Or perhaps he might have to reach a level of basic competence in his day job to do that for everyone. | drectly

08/4/2024 15:15 | It was hoped that the rebrand would end confusion after the company sold its Standard Life brand to insurer Phoenix Group in February 2021. -------------------- Wtf? So, has it ended any confusion? It seems to me like Aberdeen was trying to do a dad dance and get groovy man, getting hip with our youf. How many millions of our money for such a stupid name change? Sorry if this is bullying! FFS! Concentrate On what you do best, flogging immensely profitable financial products. The ad agency seems to concentrate on what it does best - taking millions off gullible company directors. | pierre oreilly
08/4/2024 14:45 | LOL, that's excellent skinny. Thanks | cwa1
05/4/2024 21:31 | Skinny I would tend to agree that ABDN has some upside potential once the 'market' decides or violates the lower lows maybe it is a done deal already or perhaps we see a retest of the lows who knows? | svend2
05/4/2024 20:53 | I hold both - both are XD and I see possibly more percentage gain short term in ABDN -once the bad wood is culled. But thanks for your "advice". | skinny
05/4/2024 20:17 | Skinny - you should have bought M&again rather then Abdn (don’t put all the eggs in one basket) . M & G is a better Co . | stevensupertrader
05/4/2024 19:43 | Steve, maybe the price has its target set at the 10/03/2009 low @ 123.50 this should cut some feathers loose i.e. bullying from birds higher up the pecking order. how this board can dish out any bonuses when the share price is down from 330 to 138 is beyond 'conmen' sense in just 3 years the tea leaves look like dead Christmas trees if you look back to the 2009 low. | svend2
05/4/2024 15:06 | Brave lad Skinny! However, they do say that the bold, brave and strong are more likely favoured. spud | spud
05/4/2024 15:02 | I've added a few this afternoon using spare capacity in this years ISA. A toss up between here & MNG. | skinny
05/4/2024 12:38 | US created 303k jobs in March predicted or forecast 200k - therefore this decreases the chance of Fed cutting interest soon . | stevensupertrader
05/4/2024 12:05 | peirre oreilly: your punt yesterday was rather too early , however a big dilemma for shareholders that bought Abdn over £2 . This is a falling knife . The more one average - the deeper the hole , one gets into . Will break through £1.35 if US job date more than 200k . Finger crossed for you | stevensupertrader
05/4/2024 11:03 | Look like it will break through £1.35 | stevensupertrader

05/4/2024 10:17 | It's high time the rules that applied to Thomas Wolsey and Thomas Cromwell were reinstituted, do well and you're richly rewarded, don't do well and you pay with your head! | juliemara
05/4/2024 10:03 | The 5+ year low here is 131.40p - when (if) does this become a compelling recovery play.... | skinny
05/4/2024 09:53 | The sooner this lot are out the better. Utter greed. And useless. Suet | suetballs
05/4/2024 09:42 | Wonderful. CFO leaves with a big payoff, new guy arrives with a big golden hello and on a much higher salary than previous CFO (because he's worth it). The reason given by abrdn is his 'significant experience'. This appears to merit a 25% increase in the salary Bruce was paid. So I presume that Bruce had insignificant experience. Good grief, where does that place Bird in the pecking order I wonder. | mcunliffe1
04/4/2024 14:25 | Taken a punt just now. A gamble for sure, but there's a lot of corporate action in financials recently (due to inflation expected to drop apparently). I annualise the divis, but with this one I'll halve last years divi and hope for a maintained divi. Shorters may lock in profits friday pm, so I expect a little bounce then. Strangely doing what i usually advise against, buying thinking it can't go lower. Oh well, next year I'm sure I'll be well in profit, and have received some level of divi. | pierre oreilly |
