sigo Sorry for the delay - have had PC trouble, at least I have had the weird situation of ALL of my Financial Sites with whom I am registered refusing my name and password. The situation has righted itself in a number of cases but in others I am having to supply new passwords. I am not sufficiently au fait with PC's to know if I have been 'nobbled' or not. If anyone has any comments I would appreciate them.
In the matter of Inspace INSP - this is a company that has slipped by me. Exactly WHAT do they do sigo? Lets face it. We are all always looking for another Mears and, eventually, one will arise but not, I fear, some of those suggested as inheritors of the title and posted on these pages. Perhaps, if you investigate further you would be so kind as to post your comments on this posting.

Deehill - I am researching Inspace - INSP - who floated yesterday and are fairly similar to MER.

Have you heard of them - any feedback welcome!

Should they be a major announcement might that not be news of a rather large aquisition?

No doubt super news for the long term but surely a further slide in the share price will follow any such announcement?

How many of the loyal supporters will be at the AGM at the end of the month ? This MIGHT be the meeting where you were 'the first to hear it' in the way of a major announcement.
God, I might even close the clinic and fly over (if the Taxman doesnt hear of it)

Whilst I thought my opinion was clearly stated I fail to understand the implied criticism behind mdrans remarks.A question as to when the price will rise is clearly answered by 'when they announce some more first class contracts'
and these have been achieved over the years by good, honest, service NOT fancy attention to 'truants etc'. Whether its a 'nasty party' borough, or not, the essential thing to remember is that it is controlled, in business terms, by the idlest bunch of layabouts on Gods earth. From the 'chief exec' down Local Gov employees are committed to ensuring that they work as little as possible and slew off as much as is feasible - hence the success of Mears. That Mears, now, seems to consider it a requirement to lick the backsides of this odious crew is sad.

Not for some time if they were to adopt Deehill's approach to influencing the movers and shakers in the public housing sector. Not even where the "nasty party" holds sway.

Mears has issued its yearly prognostication..and, whilst it gives all credit to the employee's, it does seem to emphasise its 'good intentions' with the folk who live in the housing stock that Mears are PAID to keep in good trim. To achieve this it would appear that Mears employee's are a giving of their time to support such enterprises as reducing truancy - which I would have thought the responsibility of the education authority who, should they require assistance, be prepared to PAY for any enterpise that will achieve their ends and for which they, undoubtedly, will claim the credit. Mears is NOT a charitable organization and its employee's should be encouraged to extend their efforts on behalf of MEARS (with suitable financial rewards). As window dressing the 'good intentions' are commendable - as long as its quite clear that this is a Business First, Last and ALL THE TIME.

Having had a sale of 100k by a Director, this week, there was also a rather nice recommendation by Investec - @231p. I assume prior to the 'sale'. Most significantly Investec indicated that - at 231 - Mears were only 'AT THE START OF A MAJOR GROWTH STORY' which I truly believe to be true.
Also recommended were CNT (by somebody else) during the week. I know where my investment bucks would be going. There has NEVER been a breath of a problem at MEARS.
I am told that the Investec recom will appear over the week end in the press - but which One?

Director selling 100k shares - 50% of holding. I only wish I knew where he is going to find somewhere safer than MER to put it at the moment

If I could be allowed a serious question.

What was Mears eps for the last financial year?

Looking at the accounts you can take your pick from any number of different figures and IMHO it makes quite a big difference which figure you use.

LOL who cares I will not be voting for any Stool Pigeon Party or supporting this terminally Ill British System in any way so I really do not care who they put in to run/ruin the Country quite frankly.

No Party controls the Country's Money so Democracy is a farcical Illusion.

I have to say, Gentlemen, that there is not room for TWO alcoholics on this strand and thus, if theberg does not sober up - I shall have to depart. Obviously we both have a bee in our bonnet but, in his case, it has stung him in the wrong place. If there is an interpreter among you then, possibly, you will explain his ramblings. to mdtrrans1 I would merely indicate that, whilst most of YOU have just alerted yourselves to the bare possibility of a Tory victory it has regularly been assesed by Mears as a matter of course. Its called 'planning for the future'. I dont care who spends what, where and when -just so long as there's summat in it for me.
