Strangely, a colleague of mine who was devoid of cash (and still is) but followed Mears due to my childish insistence that he should realize the folly of his non investment, came up with 275p for Dec 31 '05. Mind you, he had just consumed half a bottle of Jack Black. I have not, yet, formed an opinion but would rule on the side of caution UNTIL they unveil yet another tranche of money making deals. Interesting, also, is the fact that this price, now, can be used as a launch for another company

To deehill, cambium, chester, hoseed, fingers xxd and all the rest of the MSG (Mears Supporters Group) may I wish (nay assure) you of a Happy and Prosperous New Year.

As for a guess at the price in a year's time, I'll go for a conservative 276.

Thanks fingers xxd (or wally wombat in disguise) A very valuable posting and we disagree in only one respect, the next - temporary - plateau, which I view as 230p. I trust that you are, now, back into this stock. For some time I was sucked in to the theory that, if one had passed me by, there was no steam left. Since entirely disproven, by myself, to my TOTAL benefit I really do recommend, fingers, that you get aboard this one as soon as poss.NOW would anyone like to prognosticate on the price at Dec 31 2005 ?

The sale of 195,000 is only just over 5% of his holding - mere pocket money to a man who owns 6% of this Co.!

Thanks chester, for bringing us both, thats Tinker and I, back to reality.Rest assured that you have made a wise purchase. This company has so much potential that, at times, it frightens me. By that I mean that I have the good fortune to have discovered them. As part of the 'club' you might want to take a look at Supporta where Robert Holt is also Chairman. Incidentally. Assuming the 'Shares' article was about a theoretical 'purchase' by a Director arent we due an apology from the Journalist concerned?

Only recently bought into MER, but I like the look of it.

Now. I have checked again concerning the article, which my informant 'recalls' was in Shares and formed a justification for further purchases of Mears based on the fact that one of the Directors had added 25500 to his holding. Can any other reader verify if this story is correct? As to Tinker. If he is using what I believe he is using to 'drag' his pool, there is no requirement for further embellishment. The incredible part is that, two hours after I posted the National Enquirer story I was approached by 'People' magazine for a follow up - which I have sold for real cash. Who says the Internet doesnt work ?

Back to reality. Regarding the 255000 shares, you are right deehill. It took place on 6th December and this is taken from the RNS:

"PURCHASE OF SHARES

7. Number of shares / amount of stock acquired

n/a

8. Percentage of issued class

9. Number of shares/amount of stock disposed

255,000

10. Percentage of issued class

0.44%

11. Class of security

Ord 1p

12. Price per share

206.25p

13. Date of transaction

3 December 2004

14. Date company informed

6 December 2004

15. Total holding following this notification

3,745,000"

As you can see, he still holds around 8 million quids worth, so no worries there.

I'm not sure what you're on dee, but is it available on the internet and is it also guaranteed to double the size of a certain part of my anatomy?

Oh my God. Its going to be one of those 'kiss and tell' books is it? BUT it will have to go some to compete with my new serialization in the National Enquirer.Entitled 'I was the one man in the Western Hemisphere who DID NOT sleep with Overly Dunn'its going to 'blow the lid' off the celibate market!!!!Incidentally. Whilst I have not actually seen the article my self it would appear that a Journalist in 'Shares' magazine has based his article on the fact that the Director of Mears - who I believed(and still do) sold 255000 shares - was, in fact a BUYER. One of us is way out of line. Whilst I cannot be fired for my info, if this is the way this guy earns a living maybe it should have been him who retired.By the way. The Nat Enquirer serial will be followed with'The ghastly day that Overly Dunn, dun me over' All this should pay for Xmas in the most satisfactory way. New Year will see 'I am the Monk who refused to dunk'

Regarding the new book, how did you know about it? I can confirm that I shall be revealing almost all, but I refuse to comment on my relationship (or lack of it) with Kimberly Quinn. I learnt my lesson with Monica Lewinski. I never thought anyone could stoop so low, although, come to think of it, it was more of a squat than a stoop.

Tinker.
I never denigrate 'new'money, since that is what mine is...but there are limits.Thank you for the reassurance on the matter of the pool.I have this picture of Brits who leave the ould sod and then find that they cant really make it on their meagre pension, therefore HAVING to clean their own pool. To have this matter cleared up - and before the Xmas break - is comforting.I note that Manuel has a looooong tongue. Would he be interested in emigration. There are several demanding Ladies I could introduce him to!!!! In the matter of intruding blossoms, thank heavens I am past recognizing them by the mid afternoon...but I still have sensation in the tips of my fingers. I KNOW that I am going to, eventually, discover that you are putting all this in your latest book, Tinker.

Beckhams? New money. Need I say more? As I was saying to Manuel, this morning as he was licking the lounge floor clean, "Don't think you're getting a present this year". Of course, he hasn't a clue what I'm saying. He's from Barcelona. Just to put the record straight, when I said I was cleaning the pool, this wasn't strictly accurate. Naturaly I have a man who does the heavy stuff (Juan) and a gardener, Louise (English - nice to give the little ladies a chance to earn some pin money and keeps the natives in their place) but if an odd bougainvillea petal dares to land on the surface, I feel obliged to put my V & T down and 'rescue' it. Hope that clears the matter up.

Hi Tinker. If I may be permitted. It was, once, a requirement that a 'Gentleman' did not soil his hands with toil. Oh to have been born one of the Bertie Wooster's of this world. Now, to your 'toils'. Your first mistake was to decide on Spain. Nothing wrong with the country BUT the days of cheap 'house' labor have long gone....whereas, in other parts of the Globe it is still possible to hire 'in house' staff at sensible prices. I bet you are one of those determined folk who dont even use a golf cart and, sometimes, neither do I BUT if I dont, then there is always a small person to carry the bag.As to the pool, whilst I am not a swimmer it gets a regular cleaning....but not by me.On one thing we are in total agreement. The advent of the Internet has made it possible to maintain an interest in the world's major exchanges but not, now, have the hassle of either 'the City' or Wall Street, for that we should, probably, tithe the inventors 10%.
