26/4/2024 10:15 | IMO we will see another 7.27 cents for the next dividend making it *4, then a hike, the dividend history points to raises following pairs or fours of equal payouts.. Not long until we find out.. ;o) | laurence llewelyn binliner
26/4/2024 10:09 | I'd be happy with a 10% dividend increase. That's on my wish list, hellscream | veryniceperson
26/4/2024 10:06 | I've read on here by a sensible poster that Rosneft is held in a nominee account where all the dividends are paid into. Look, it might be wrong. But if someone knows differen, please put me right. | veryniceperson
26/4/2024 08:43 | Keep overlooking Rosneft - what is the realistic future potential there ? The whole value has been written off and there seems to be no value attributed to it…. If/when Trump gees in I see a possible peace deal being initiated…. What then? | adg
26/4/2024 08:18 | an 30p special is on my wish list, rosneft is worth 98p. 30p to shareholders 58p to bp 10p to ukraine (just to shut the left up) | hellscream
26/4/2024 08:12 | up the dividend 15-20% and this share would rocket up atleast a pound. | hellscream
23/4/2024 15:18 | Shell Q1 results 2nd May BP Q1 results 7th MayOil prices are at least $5 higher since Q4 and probably already reflected in current share price. Still, if there is no bad news then share price should hold or rise slightly? | younasm
23/4/2024 15:01 | Shares rise and fall to encourage or force you to trade - the big moves can be worrying for my high risk trading - I normally have an (expensive) exit plan if the risks get too much.I have taken lots of profits taking short positions, especially when you get a 10% rise - it will invariably return close to average.Similar for big drops in share price.Good luck. | younasm
23/4/2024 14:57 | My experience of trading BP shares : these tend to rise sharply for a few days and then return to the average price.I have adjusted my trading range from 460-500 to 480-520p. I tend to buy and sell using many trades to keep a consistent average.I am slightly bearish on oil prices, as there is no shortage or huge demand. Most price rises are caused by temporary transport issues.I sold a few BP at 528p this morning and I am not expecting anything above 540p for next 2-3 weeks. There is a good chance BP might drop below 510 as well. | younasm
23/4/2024 12:59 | Thank you!, understand totally and I’m much the same when I’m asked (glass half full kind of mindset rather than empty) - I have noted that you two guys tend to get it right more often than wrong - but daft as it seems I hadn’t thought on this occasion/requirement to do a half and half (doh!) so I think I’ll do that today. I do think it’s still worth staying long the UK oilers for now, can’t think of many places I would put funds elsewhere tbh - I don’t see me starting selling any sizeable amounts of bp/shell until next year unless world events overtake. | adg
23/4/2024 10:16 | Morning, I would not even want to advise my kids on when to sell. Always told them to take the 'bird in the hand' and split the sale so as to get an average. Charts are looking ok, though most SP's tends to mark time up to results. BP is as good as any as $ earner. Also I believe the prior week CEO Shell is likely to add to comment re listing move which may jolt the share price ... you pays your money you take your chance.. | gwatson56
23/4/2024 08:47 | Q for Gwatson / Younasm please What’s your thought re share price running up to results on 7th? Fwiw I think we have a bit left in the tank if everything else behaves. Asking for purely selfish reason as I need to sell 5k in next 30 days to pay balance of new motor off, shoulda sold at 540 last week but happy to risk upside of another move up against a slip back to 500p | adg

19/4/2024 12:33 | Dotzenrath being retired is another sign that BP have pulled back from the green transition which once sounded so exciting, she is no doubt frustrated that none of her candidate low-carbon programmes satisfy the board. To go with rowing back on production cut commitments and easing back on things like the Pulse network investment. I wonder if BP will also retreat from the scale or timing of JV offshore wind projects, unless or until there is a stronger commercial case. Those cheering BP on to join US supermajors exploiting oil and gas while we can in a bid to drive up value will no doubt be pleased. | marktime1231
19/4/2024 09:21 | You called it hellscream and their listening. Lol | veryniceperson
19/4/2024 08:23 | £4.99 today with oil down 1-2% end of day if i were betting. | hellscream
19/4/2024 07:41 | Saudi Arabia Needs Oil Price Near $100, IMF Says (Bloomberg) -- Saudi Arabia will need a higher oil price than previously thought this year as the OPEC+ leader spearheads the group’s production cuts, according to the International Monetary Fund. Riyadh will require an average oil price of $96.20 a barrel to balance its budget, assuming it holds crude output steady near 9.3 million barrels a day this year, the Washington-based Fund said in its regional economic outlook on Thursday. | johnwise
19/4/2024 07:40 | Oil prices surge 3% on reports of Israeli strikes on Iran The benchmark contracts surged more than $3 then eased slightly. At 0200 GMT, Brent futures were up $2.63, or 3 per cent, to $89.74 a barrel. The most active U.S. West Texas Intermediate contract climbed $2.56, or 3.1 per cent, to $84.66 per barrel. | johnwise
19/4/2024 06:58 | would be nice to see a good up day. bet oil ends the day down. | hellscream
18/4/2024 15:59 | I am 57 and been dealing for 30 plus years now so I have resigned myself to probably never learning 😂 I did however pull a large amount out last year on Valentine’s Day from bp and shell amongst others to pay off a mortgage so was happy with that discipline then - this is small fry in comparison thankfully. Hopefully have an upward blip in a few weeks | adg
18/4/2024 15:53 | It's not a profit until it's in your pocket. Lesson learnt? | veryniceperson
18/4/2024 15:42 | Same old story - I never learn…… I need to sell about 5k bp to pay towards new motor next week. I had 530 as a sell target but did I sell….? Did I heck and thought “this is the time they will go back to 570” seen it done it heard it all before a hundred times but I do not ever learn… Only solace is that the dealers say I need to pay the balance of the car within 30 days if collection so I have until 22nd May - and we “may” see an uptick with positive results…… On a positive note - I think we will see positive ground being made going forward, - has it bottomed for now? Hope so Will it dip to that £5 ? Looking less likely today but wtfdik | adg |
