It's close. Opec + are keeping Brent in the 80s. Controlling it well for oil companies. Exploration is very expensive

A lot of red on the markets today so just being blue may be a sign of strength with better days to come.

Brent is sitting at $84.5. Brent has been stable now for a couple of months now. Good for top top line come results season.

Looking at the API numbers BP / Shell should rise tomorrow. I reckon that BP will end in the low 490's tomorrow though 500+ might be breached by weekend. We get another set of US oil numbers tomorrow afternoon and if they follow the lead set by API then yep 500 is possible this week.

Fingers crossed, adg. I've 3.6k. I want 500. That way, I get a free holiday + change. He who dares.

Agree BP should easily be in the 550p to 650p range imvho
Just a matter of time and it’ll be up there and higher - no doubt about that whatsoever
Wish they’d bloody well hurry up though as I need to sell a few to put towards new car arriving in May and don’t want to sell any below 500 preferably 530+

I assume today's response is because Coutinho (who is she, really?) has promoted UK energy policy in the direction of unabated fossil fuels for another 40 years?

Huge direction shifting by this and previous governments, from nuclear to offshore wind to hydrogen and back to natural gas. And why without CCUS?

vnp - I think the profit from charging is secondary, BP thinks it will make its fortune because you are trapped at its rest stop / store / cafe for 20 minutes while your car is plugged in.

With Opec + holding oil (Brent) between $80.00 to $85.00 a barrel. BP is coining it. BP also buys its share back at a rate averaging 4.7 million a day for cancellation, which will probably continue for the next 2 years. Also, personally, I think they will slow their green agenda down a lot more and pump more oil gas, IMHO. The thing is, if the share price remains at these levels, they may well come across a predator over the pond that just might be interested. Again IMHO

Sterling dividends payable in cash will be converted from US dollars at an average of the market exchange rate over the three dealing days between 6 March and 8 March 2024 (£1 = US$1.27718). Accordingly, the amount of sterling dividend payable in cash on 28 March 20245 - 6922 pence per share.

It would be nice for BP to hold on to it's gains and break the 480 level.
