10/8/2012 16:37 | an interesting day for the sp | glyn10
10/8/2012 12:07 | Well,, for all the lack of profits the chart looks remarkably robust, if it rebases at the £2 level. | brucie5
02/8/2012 14:01 | Lol Glyn. Reliance on Samsung may soon reach the old Apple levels. Encouraging that they may end up returning to profit in Q3/4 (if they don't the share price will get hammered again imo) but a return to the profit seen a few years back still seems light years away. This company floated nearly a decade ago and is significantly down from the Initial share price I'm guessing most shareholders would accept a bid anything round 100p+ of here. As fab said. $50 million cash gone in a year or two as well. See where the share price is come Feb 13 when FY results are out. If the board cannot persuade anyone to buy shares in WLF then (shirley one of the most least traded stocks in the FTSE350), i'm giving up. Edit: Looks like a sell order(s) being worked maybe. Only aware of one Broker downgrade since results. Freefall since it peaked the other day. No bounce soon then something is definitely up. Volume massive by WLF standards too lol. Half expecting to see a few more chunky delayed sells go through next week. | domtheone
02/8/2012 07:52 | Dom - I would settle for 280p !! | glyn10
01/8/2012 18:34 | MF coverage fwiw. I guess it could fall a bit from here, but recovery seems on the way. | brucie5
01/8/2012 17:15 | Always jam tomorrow. Would be a continuing car wreck without Samsung. Have burnt $50m in what, 18 months? Does make for an interesting share to trade tho with low lows v step ups | fabzzz
31/7/2012 21:00 | If it don't bounce soon...not that I believe in charts lol. Market not really bothered about results. One day we'll return to profits blah blah. Hopefully that'll happen before the cash runs out. Biggest customer (Samsung?) accounting for 30% of revenue. 300p and the companies all yours Samsung. | domtheone
31/7/2012 20:05 | small steps I guess; still hanging in there | pjw956
27/7/2012 23:36 | Yep. Disappointing. A monster 50k traded today too. Maybe some profit taking before results early next week. Always dread results day with WLF. 10 million Galaxy S3's sold in 3 months though..and 15-20 million forecast for the next 3 months. | domtheone
27/7/2012 20:52 | after today - not so sure - | pjw956
25/7/2012 22:15 | Bit of help from ARM today. Wonder if WLF can do us a favour on Tuesday. What do we reckon, 50/50 lol. Place your bets.. | domtheone
25/7/2012 20:18 | Looking to close that gap up to 226p now then mid 40s. | matt123d
25/7/2012 19:06 | 3.10 on the cards? 2.40 next resistance. | brucie5
23/7/2012 19:51 | WLF down not one cent. CSR ahead slightly against tomoroow's results. | brucie5
19/7/2012 09:51 | Yup. A shame not have noticed this falling to the £1 level last year, at which it was a steal. But I sense it's not too late here, and as good a time as most! | brucie5
18/7/2012 10:17 | In CSR also but prefer the technicals here, one of the most bullish charts on the London market at present. A series of higher highs and higher lows with a rising 5,10,20,50 and 200dma. 52wk breakout at 207p, current trend channel points to a possible 250p by Sept. With RSI at 58 and at a new 52wk high, quite unusual to come across, looks a perfect entry level here. | matt123d
17/7/2012 11:35 | Agreed about the chart - these have been on my watch list for a while now. Currently they seem to play second fiddle to CSR, but their sps also appear somewhat correlated since they occupy similar market place. I've just bought in, slightly late but never mind. Hoping that like CSR, they're in secular recovery mode. They can move when they want to (!) having doubled within a few months of their 2011 low. News on here has all seemed good, but I'm willing to hear some bear points from any informed posters here..? | brucie5
17/7/2012 11:03 | I'll consider breakout at 250p+ Results in a few weeks. Hopefully no screw ups this time. | domtheone
17/7/2012 09:12 | Breaking out now with the CSR/SAMSUNG deal. | matt123d
28/6/2012 10:18 | Wolfson technology selected by Sharp for latest smartphone Date: Thursday, June 28, 2012 Edinburgh, UK, 28 June 2012 - Wolfson Microelectronics plc has today announced that its high performance stereo digital-to-analogue converter (DAC), the WM8918, has been selected by Sharp to provide outstanding audio for its latest 'docomo with series', AQUOS PHONE st SH-07D smartphone, now available in Japan from NTT DOCOMO. Powered by Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), the AQOUS PHONE st SH-07D features a 1GHz core processor, an 8 megapixel camera, an LCD touchscreen display and a music player delivering high quality audio playback. Wolfson's WM8918 is designed to deliver superior audio to portable applications including smartphones, tablet computers, multimedia players and gaming devices. Takahisa Yamada, VP of Sales and General Manager at Wolfson Japan, said: "Wolfson has a proud heritage of providing high performance audio solutions to the world's leading consumer electronics manufacturers and we are delighted that Sharp has selected Wolfson technology for its latest smartphone." 27/6/2012 16:04 | Think a lot of these shares are tucked away maybe... Any info out there on the list of major shareholders? If ever a serious buyer comes along then the price should jump quite a lot. Tis what i'm hoping for in the next few months. | domtheone
27/6/2012 16:01 | Tabloid story: For once, the new must-have phone is not made by Apple. The Galaxy S III is set to become Samsung's fastest-selling smartphone, with the South Korean tech giant expecting to have shifted 10 million by July. It is pretty good news, then, for Wolfson Microelectronics that its technology is in the potential iPhone killer. The small-cap chip designer announced today that its "Audio Hub" product is being used in the phone, the latest tie-up between the two companies. Although some argued that the news was hardly a surprise, it was clearly not an anti-climax for everyone: Wolfson jumped 13p to 203p - its highest level for a year. Citing Samsung's bullishness over the phone's prospects, Numis Securities' Nick James announced he was now a buyer of Wolfson's shares and he raised his target price to 250p. It makes a nice change from almost exactly 12 months ago when Wolfson's share price lost more than a quarter in just one session thanks a profits warning, which the firm blamed on consumers being increasingly cautious about splashing out on electronics. | domtheone
27/6/2012 06:47 | Old and odd - the contract win would have been some time ago - the device has been out a few weeks and the teardowns already indicated WLF inclusion; also Samsung specifically named, WLF normally refers to "major Tier 1 manufacturer" etc. Perhaps its the notification requirements under the listing rules tho I am not too knowledgeable on those (hark back to failure to notify market quick enough of loss of Apple slots in 08 and even that was on a no name basis) - there was some news around on Monday of Samsung expecting to ship up to 10m iii S units by July. I'd stick along for the ride - WLF always breaks its mundane phases with periods of share price frenzy both up and down. | fabzzz
26/6/2012 21:40 | still holding a few - you just never know with wlf; but this is old news ; any google of S111 and wolfson has come up for months.... shows buyers in the market don't appear to know whats really going on.. it is good news though, as this phone could shift in significant volume around the world... anyone know if wlf linked to any windows 8 product ? tablet or phone ? | pjw956 |
