05/8/2008 11:00 | I am yet another suffering shareholder. Should we see Mr. Voller's departure as a ray of hope ? The strategic review has now been going on for nearly 6 months and I fear that the professional fees will have eaten up most of our cash by now. | varies
05/8/2008 08:00 | 05 August 2008 Appointment of New Chief Executive Officer The Board is pleased to announce that Dr. Robin Francis, the Company's Chief Technology Officer, is to take over as Chief Executive Officer ('CEO') with immediate effect. Stephen Voller has been the CEO for the last 7 years, 3 years as Voller Energy Group Plc and 4 years prior to the Company listing. He has overseen the Company's successful development of its Emerald range of fuel cells, but has now, with mutual consent, stepped down as CEO to pursue other business interests. Stephen will continue to work closely with the Company and will act as a consultant to the Company through the next important stage of its development. Robin Francis commented 'The Board would like to thank Stephen for his hard work, energy and commitment. The first Emerald fuel cell systems are now being shipped to customers and it is an exciting time for the Company. Meanwhile, I am delighted to accept the position of Chief Executive Officer and look forward to continuing to work with the rest of the Board to complete the Company's strategic review announced on 22 February 2008'. | hugepants
05/8/2008 02:54 | £260,000 probably a bit optimistic, they probably gave a pretty good discount to get those maiden orders! | dave_natch
04/8/2008 17:58 | Receiving an order and actually selling are not the same. Orders can be cancelled. | tyranosaurus
04/8/2008 17:28 | From interims ...At the time of the preliminary results the receipt of a maiden order from GenQuip for twenty Emerald units was announced. Since then, orders for a further six units have been received for the product from the leisure market both for yachting and recreational vehicles... Someone said these things sell for 10 grand. Thats £260,000 revenue. Not a lot but a start. | hugepants
23/7/2008 20:52 | profits to be less than market expectations obviously | brwo349
23/7/2008 09:16 | "a leading developer of fuel cell systems" excactly..."develope Mate, sometimes it amazes me why people don't take a more common sense veiw of a company and just ring them up / ask them how much their product is likely to cost... even if I had enough money to buy my own yacht I would never shell out the kind of cash voller are asking for a (frankly noisy if you've ever seen the demo of it??) generator. takeover or bust - don't do it.. anyway, hope no-ones been crippled by this pipe dream. | phil2003
22/7/2008 17:39 | Just another bunch of spivs who just love to hit the unsuspecting ! Aim must have more dodgy Directors then all the hoods in Dartmoor! | jotoha1
22/7/2008 15:16 | fair enough let him be judged on his claims but there can be no market related excuses if it fails. He either delivers or he is deemed another AIM ineffectual. My own view is that no offer of share holder value will be forthcoming and the company will fold without producing an order book. I ask this question - if it's so good why isn't Speedy bailing it? They were sharp enough to be involved in the ludicrous V100 - yes I'm deeply cynical but lets' see how he performs. He made the claim, it is his responsibility to produce the goods. | giltspur
22/7/2008 13:32 | But surely Stephen Voller should be well motivated to make sure theres a favourable end result here. The company only has funding to last another 12 months but he owns 2.85M shares which is over 12% (the management in total own about 25%). If company sold now at current cash per share of 10p (and that assigns no value to the intellectual property) then he gets £285,000 back. Also his reputation within business community is relatively intact. If company goes bust he only gets his salary of £150,000 and his reputation is in tatters. Heres a reminder of what they said on 22nd Feb. "...The Board of Voller Energy Group PLC, a leading developer of fuel cell systems, has asked Deloitte Corporate Finance to conduct a strategic review of the options open to the Company with the objective of maximising shareholder value...." | hugepants
22/7/2008 12:25 | But just because you can attribute 11p per share to the company's net assets, why does that make 4p a good investment? If a company were to buy out Voller tomorrow then sure. But nobody's going to do that! An investment is only worth doing if it increases in value. The cash is only going to go down. Only news of sales is going to make this thing move north. In my humble, etc. | dave_natch
22/7/2008 11:02 | A bargain surely at 4.25p to buy. Voller should still have 10p of cash and NTAV over 11p. | hugepants
21/7/2008 16:42 | sigh.. as suspected at their suggested retail t'was a flawed pipe dream at 50p in boyant markets.. still a pipe dream at 4p in a bear market. oh and credit crunch = less yachts, surely? real shame, hope people had stops in place. | phil2003
21/7/2008 13:56 | asparks: dunno, I'm here as a watcher, not a holder. I do believe that this is worth keeping a close eye on - you have got to believe that if they get some new business worth reporting and generate a bit of hype again then a wily bottom-feeder could make a quick buck with a punt at current levels. | dave_natch
21/7/2008 13:19 | I have no idea why all VLR holders dont just sell up and invest in ITM or CFU if they are into fuel cells? Can anyone explain the logic of remaining here? | asparks
21/7/2008 13:16 | sales sales sales. that is the only hope. some big contracts and a validation that there is a genuine market for what they do. | dave_natch
21/7/2008 12:37 | can anyone see any hope at all for this co | brwo349
16/7/2008 12:58 | As far as I'm concerned Carol is over - I was going to take her picture off my bedroom wall - yes it's that bad. | giltspur
15/7/2008 16:57 | Commiserations to all holders. Sometimes a company like this will pay off and sometimes it wont. I sold out months ago and thank the stars I did. A strategic review is all very well but when the company loses so much money every month well its a luxury they can ill afford. | jim_black
15/7/2008 16:09 | Carol has joined the board at ITM. I feel this is betrayal and will never watch anything with her on again or invest either. | volsung
15/7/2008 16:05 | No, we need Carol - Carol is the only one who can save us by numbers. | giltspur |
