I am happy for the company to invest the money it has left in the stock market we should get a much better return.

You are quite right in suggesting that I too should write to the company.
I have made a great many dud share purchases in my time and never achieved anything by seeking to persuade directors to have more regard for their shareholders.
This does not mean, however, that one should not try and I will soon.

Funny thing is the strategic review which began in February was supposed to "maximise shareholder value". Minimize shareholder value more like it.

I have returned from a few days off and am trying to make sense of VLR's statement on 1 October that the outcome of their search for more funding is uncertain.
Are they seriously expecting investors in today's conditions to throw good money after bad ?
What all of us want (unless on the VLR payroll) is a distribution of the cash they have left !

There is still a lot of value in this business with £2M cash (and NTAV of £2.5M) at end of June. Compares with current market cap of only £0.35M. Given the current economic environment I can think of better ways to invest £2M than using it to develop uneconomical fuel cells! I just hope the management dont adopt an all or nothing attitude. I guess this is wishful thinking but with a bit of imagination they could turn themselves into an investment company and buy shares in bombed out AIM oil companies (ones with spectacular upside like FRR). At least we may have a chance of getting out money back in a few years. They wouldnt even need to change their name.

It does look as if VLR's technology is of little interest to anyone else; otherwise someone would surely come forward with an offer whilst there is still money in VLR's bank.
At least the yacht has gone.
This is all very depressing and it is hard to see how the management can be prevented from burning up the cash we have left.

Hi,

Happy new year to all holders. Let's hope it's a bit better than 2007.
I agree the talk about raising cash is just malicious claptrap. Voller have enough cash for the time being.

It's a bit of an option money stock as far as I'm concerned - I'll either multi-bag my money, or lose it. That's the deal with this kind of stock.

Regards, Paul.

Cannot get it right all the time -
