07/12/2001 10:14 | Up another 0.5p | chadders
07/12/2001 10:09 | What is not clear at this moment is whether the bid is hostile or not. The language suggests it is not therefore fair value for the company as a minimum is to be expected. Remember if this is not hostile then it hasn't just happened, the approach would have been made a number of weeks ago, due dilligence and all that. The discussions will be tough but amicable if both parties want a deal and the interests of both sets of shareholders will be paramount. This has a lot further to go IMO and also note that there aren't large volumes of shares on the market. This share moves bigtime (both ways) on small volumes. | chadders
07/12/2001 10:07 | Clubhouse is up around 120% in 2 days after it gained 0.25p yesterday morning and I thought about buying and I did not. It just makes one think how much more a share can go up unexpectenly. | aggressive saver
07/12/2001 10:06 | the brave sometimes die young | frances2
07/12/2001 10:04 | AS - Keep your holding, sell half when they double and then enjoy the ride at no risk. | cashisking
07/12/2001 09:57 | "AS" He who dares wins !!! I'm not that brave with this one as fully invested elsewhere. Rgds | honister
07/12/2001 09:56 | Virtual Internet just recovered 0.5p. When they make the final anouncement later this afternoon the share price may go up double the amount again. Dont know what to do now about topping up, although the brave normally win. | aggressive saver
07/12/2001 09:35 | Wait some more, it'll be back down further... The amount of transactions over the last few days hardly justifies the 40 pct or more rise. MM's trying to make too much money as per usual. | honister
07/12/2001 09:24 | I im thinking about increasing my holding now that the price has gone back down 3.5p. | aggressive saver
07/12/2001 09:20 | from the way the peice is coming back, pig and broken wing spring to mind | frances2
07/12/2001 09:16 | The share price does not represent the takeover possibility, its what I thought the shares would go up to in a few days fundamentaly. Although I would of taken a profit today if there was not this news of a takeover. | aggressive saver
07/12/2001 09:13 | Check my post #34 earlier this week. There will now be more than one comopany looking to acquire VET to protect their own position and in this scenario of a potential US buyer then Affinity will HAVE to enter the race. IMHO of course. Glad to be holding and agree about the qaulity of post on this board. Well done and keep it up guys. | cashisking
07/12/2001 08:59 | mjhalpin... just scared off by the massive hike in price this morning, I don't want to get caught with my pants down. I'd not really followed the co. so couldn't buy in earlier, I just saw the rns this morning, but good luck to anyone in before today, lord knows we could all do with some money from somewhere ? I'll watch with interest from now on. Most of my spare money in NMT at the moment at 6.5p.(awaiting a medium term recovery) Rgds Honister | honister
07/12/2001 08:59 | More companies may well take notice of this company now. Do you always accept the first offer put on the table? Not trying to ramp as I based my investment on fundamentals only and imho they still hold true. Still quite pleased with this sound investment and have added a few more. | mjhalpin
07/12/2001 08:57 | Buys coming through. First decent buy of 10k! Patterns fundamentals and charts. Looking forward to some more press speculation over the weekend and possibly some more news come monday. Remember the board have advised us shareholders not to take any action yet. What a confidence booster. Remember this was a lost share caught up in the bloodbath of the burst .com bubble and all that they have done is to get to grip with costs and increased their revenues. They have also an large amount of cash reserves. Hmmm. | mjhalpin
07/12/2001 08:52 | from the independent...via sharecast Virtual Internet According to whispers Virtual Internet, up 1p at 23.5p, has received a 45p-per-share takeover bid from a US competitor, The Independent reported. It is believed the company received the approach some days ago and is currently considering its response. Virtual was valued at £5.6m at the close and is believed to have cash of around £8m. | frances2
07/12/2001 08:47 | the offer might be too good to refuse..........:-) | kitkat
07/12/2001 08:40 | Well done guys. I dint trade VET because the spread & NMS put me off but I enjoyed reading it as this is one of the few bb threads when some decent analytical research was put together. I hope this sort of inout can continue on other threads. | matthewa
07/12/2001 08:37 | With i think £9m ash they will have to offer 60p or more, im gonna poss get some more in... | frances2
07/12/2001 08:23 | pacman88 Yep, I think management will need a good incentive to sell. | mad4it
07/12/2001 08:20 | mjhalpin I agree! and that is why I'm not convinced a deal will be done, unless, for some reason, as yet unknown, VET is in trouble, but I doubt it. | mad4it
07/12/2001 08:19 | seen too many of these. if company buying it is public, they will give management options in parent co with very attractive vestings. they will not want to negotiate around these options. they will need to get drummond and management on board, make an offer which is the best interest of shareholders, and upside for management will be in terms of an earnout + new options in what they will argue is a more liquid stock. | pacman88
07/12/2001 08:16 | Re: mad4it - the remuneration package for the directors will have to be very large indeed as they have options packages exerciseable over the next 5 years of £1 each. After all they have to look after their shareholders as well | mjhalpin
07/12/2001 08:13 | Revenues last quarter=2.3M. Annualied=9.6M. Revenue is growing at about 30%. Next year = 13M. At conservative 1x revenue, company is worth 13M plus cash. say 15M. mkt cap now at 36p = 9M. still think there is another 50% upside IF deal is done. works out to abou 50-55p. very much depends on how much it is burning. | pacman88
07/12/2001 08:11 | Sorry, no idea, 45p will probably be the opening gambit, and I would expect a slightly higher price IF! a deal can be done. | mad4it |
