06/10/2016 08:24 | Decided to stick with PTSG. My sort of acquisition company. Under the shadow of Paul Scott's criticism. Plenty of risk, but knowledgeable management and a clearly visible theme. I could have wished to have bought it later :-) apad | apad
06/10/2016 08:07 | SRT rns shows yet again the difficulty of being a small, innovative manufacturer of electronics in a lumpy market. Reminds me of PSION (Potter's SCIENTIFIC INSTRUMENTS OR NOTHING) once again. They just have to be part of a conglomerate to smooth out the order book and to have continuity of CAPEX. There's always an inspiring techie CEO. These types of company are on my no-go list - regretfully. apad ps Beautiful morning, I can't believe that we'll be changing the clocks! | apad
06/10/2016 07:33 | "First redT energy storage machines arrive at Gigha Four 15-240 energy storage machines successfully delivered ahead of final installation and commissioning phase" Goodness, desperate for an rns - looks like a sell signal to me. apad | apad
05/10/2016 19:54 | Thanks guys - I'll check out the suggestions (I already hold ESP) - pete | petersinthemarket
05/10/2016 19:18 | PS I bought some for my wife and one of the directors keeps buying for his wife. I wouldn't risk buying many companies on her behalf any more than he would I'm sure. | melton john
05/10/2016 17:09 | Indeed plenty of quality when you look around - talking of ugly sofas how about VCP - just bought an underlay company too - seems a good fit :-/ | panic investor

05/10/2016 16:52 | Or student property people ESP - share does nothing but great divi | panic investor
05/10/2016 16:41 | petersinthemarket If you want to play it safe and want to leave them alone for a few years, you could pick up a few of these Enterprise Inns 6.375% Sec Bonds GBP1000 at just over par or if you want a bit of growth potential with decent divi WJG or a trust with a good discount to NAV UTL I hold all three, but mention the last two as they dipped today so I have added Just my thoughts, dyor | return_of_the_apeman
05/10/2016 16:00 | Peter buy shed loads ofXLM before close you get the divi ! | panic investor
05/10/2016 15:44 | Just taken yet another top slice off BOO (33%). What a corker! Not costing me anything to own now. OK, I know with hind sight if I'd left it all alone I'd be far richer now but who can predict that well. I know I can't. Forecasts are always difficult, especially when they concerns the future! Seriously chaps - help needed. Did I see someone on here mention Jarvis Securities JIM? I took a look and find the share price still in descent, although hovering around 308p now as if it might be near the bottom. It seems a solid enough company with a reliable past. Analysts are suggesting a price target of around 550p. Divi is minimum 5% and perhaps 8% if they pay a special. As I'm looking to buy some safe divi paying jobbies for my wife's isa at the moment it looks a good candidate. She likes safe and boring stuff that usually pays more than the banks. Anyone actually into this? Cannot see why it's down. Not sure if/when it will be up. Capital not quite so important as long as the divi keeps paying but it's obviously nice if I can prove I'm a genius by finding stocks that also go up!!! All comments welcome. pete | petersinthemarket
05/10/2016 11:29 | Btw Apad, well done on BOO, mine is now the 5th largest holding, I just followed my own rule and top sliced | modform

05/10/2016 09:53 | who made it APAD if its that good, maybe worth some more research ;-) The best mole catcher I ever had was a Terrier. Unfortunately, he made more mess of the lawn than the mole(s) ever did....... and its much more fun being humane.. | pj 1

05/10/2016 09:38 | Trap was the answer (janeann?) - but not an old fashioned one - big, plastic, expensive jobby that was easy to set. Got it in one - vicious teeth that make dracula look like a vegetarian. Fighting other moles, I guess, you wouldn't need them for an earthworm. apad | apad

05/10/2016 08:50 | BOO blasting through like there is nothing in the way. Radio commentators blithering about no-dividend, utterly irrelevant, Tesco. I must concentrate on what is important and not be distracted.....I must...... apad | apad |
