11/10/2016 15:01 | Red, not sure if you took a position in MERC, another IT which gives you access to unquoted companies. | modform
11/10/2016 14:09 | Rules!!! Top sliced TSTL as it had become > 30% of portfolio and, bought an expensive sample of BVXP for tasting. | piedro
11/10/2016 12:52 | I took an initial holding in REC yesterday for the below reasons; #Divi yield, potentially 8.3% Inc special divi #Volatile exchange rate environment, leads to clients looking to hedge more #Foreign currency revenues/profits #Strong balance sheet #P/E around 10 | haywards26
11/10/2016 08:54 | pps VCT exactly as I expected and the price has shot up! | apad
11/10/2016 08:45 | ps I calculated my income as if I had folded the entire portfolio int RDSB in fabulous february. Drove me straight to the fever tree! | apad
11/10/2016 08:43 | Hi red, 'New' materials usually wither on leaving the laboratory. Ten years for success maybe, and usually in a direction nobody expected. Life's too short. I guess you go on the chart of RDSB against the index and Trading the T line probably gives a hint. I'm not going to trade, but if it cycles I might park money there. Trouble is the transformation will gradually dawn on the Tintins. apad | apad
11/10/2016 07:56 | APAD As someone sucked in by the story, I agree on Nanoco. This is the second/third year of 'product testing' by prospective customers. Complete Mickey Mouse. How long does it take to decide whether a TV with Q Dots works, or not? Is oil looking a bit frothy now? Consequently is RDSB getting towards it's top for the present? Will the Opec members and Russia achieve anything other than words? If it all comes to nothing there is only one way for the share price to go. We have seen similar many times before. Am I being too pessimistic? red | redartbmud
11/10/2016 07:53 | NANO = agreed APAD. Will probably decide to ditch some or all of my remaining holding today and like you not chase "stories" that have anything to do with Nano this or that or Graphene this or that! See TSTL produced some news today as well. | lauders
11/10/2016 07:49 | I bought BVXP at 1010p primarily on the basis of the Sharesoc presentation and some additional research but have to tip my hat in your direction Apad for helping to fill in some gaps, thanks. Always enjoy this board & its contributors, one of the last bastions of civility remaining on ADVFN. | tudes100
11/10/2016 07:11 | Researched and analysed, please, dacian. Not tippped :-) Crude oil index on near term high will drive the open today. Nanoco nonsense FY. TCN weathering the storm and the China fix is complete. Increasing orders in a weak market but I'm not sure I am prepared to wait any longer. apad | apad
10/10/2016 14:21 | Market has lost interest in FEVR. It'll get excited in the run up to possible rns based on Xmas perhaps. apad | apad
10/10/2016 12:41 | No H, Basically they respond to the success or failure of the development work triggered by their customers (plus some blue sky research to keep the sane) and the market is niche, specialist in a big pond of ordinary. So, increasing the workforce would just suck up money to little avail. Watch the presentation, this issue is covered at length. apad | apad
10/10/2016 12:30 | My only concern or lack of visibility in BVXP is scale ability. They are a small entity. Can they double, triple annual sales and over what time scales. Without growing the workforce (currently 11 I think) can 20% annual growth be consistently achieved? Do they have plans to grow the workforce etc? | haywards26
10/10/2016 10:01 | Damn. Was going to add last week. Silly me! Ah well..... | lauders
10/10/2016 09:55 | I have added today to BVXP on the breakout | modform
10/10/2016 09:33 | BVXP - Glad I topped up last week, seems to be a lot of interest this morning. Tipped somewhere I suspect. | madmix
10/10/2016 04:43 | BVXP FY 17th inst. I don't think the story will change. Maybe some currency effect will be a positive. Essentially the way their model works is that the important newsflow is entirely in the hands of Seimens. apad | apad
10/10/2016 01:55 | Haywards26 - Can't answer you question but am also interested in the answer. Growth will depend on what happens with their switch to the hopeful new income stream when they lose their main existing one shortly. Results are due ANY DAY now I believe. So some clarity is hopefully going to come on progress. They said they were going to beat in their last update. EasyJet is worth a look as you say. Another one is ITV. Anyone interested in them by any chance? They have been paying special dividends for a while so again good for income & they have been beaten down on advertising concerns. Almost back to post BREXIT levels now. | lauders
09/10/2016 20:16 | Bioventix look like an interesting company, with growth and reasonable divi, backed by a reasonable balance sheet. Growth appears to be running at around 20% pa so a p/e of around 12 appears like good value. I am currently working my way through the June share scoc presentation by the CEO. One question I have is what growth levels are the company expecting and for how long? EasyJet has just come onto my radar. p/e of around 8 and divi of just under 6%. The share price has taken quite a fall recently. With significant currency headwinds and an over capacity situation on euro short haul. But being one of the strongest look interesting.. | haywards26
08/10/2016 10:08 | Mod I own some small cap stocks in USA and Canada as well as funds which I use to counterbalance my small cap preference. Even my Uk small cap stocks tend to earn significant amounts overseas, although there are some exceptions. | hydrus
08/10/2016 09:14 | Apart from my usual holding in UK stocks, majority of my investments are in US, I did the switch after brexit | modform |
