UKOG has just hit the key C4 and C5 gasses in the Broadford Bridge well in the Weald Basin. That's what I wanted to see. Game on! Fabulous!

It's all good and great news for those invested....and no doubt another update imminent as the drill slices through the four limestones within the oil and gas saturated Kimmeridge interval....and with target depth expected by month end, we can expect significant upside on positive data from the detailed analysis of the core and logging data to follow.....EA flowtest permit also expected "very shortly" and so transformational upside potential on free flowing commercial recoverable volumes. Gla holders On and Up!!! :-)

Ps and HH's EWT's permit approval expected in 22 days....A potential stellar 6 months or so ahead as flowtest operations at BB and HH get underway. Excitement building as the share price continues its upward momentum in anticipation of positive drill data and permit news. ;-))))

After today's update page 13 of the UKOG May 17 presentation is interesting. Ref mainly Brockham-X4z which has oil and wet gas shows through KL1-4. Also slide is titled wet gas and oil shows, abundant OIP. So wet gas was to be expected, hopefully oil shows next as they core the KL.

Ed.

But it's an absolute barsteward, not being able to see the trades. That normally gives a good indication of interest!!

Rayrac,

Yes gas above and wet gas at the coring point are both very encouraging at this stage, as well as gas levels steadily increasing. Gas present is also potentially very important as a source of drive/energy in any reservoir. So yes very +ve for the first of the four targets.

Ed.

I've just been looking at diagrams of typical oil fields. They show gas sitting above oil and oil sitting above water.

So I'm quite encouraged by today's news, especially as they are finding gas above the target zone!

Anyone know if WH Ireland or Cenkos are running brokers notes on UKOG ? Considering the 0.8p placing went to small institutions one might expect regular bulletins.

We're just into the top of the Kimmeridge limestone to then take the 100ft core.

"Downhole natural gas levels increased steadily throughout the Kimmeridge section, with the onset of wet gas shows (butane and pentane) just above the coring point."

The wet gas is just above the coring point at the top of KL-4, sounds as if they've a Kimmeridge clay just above this section giving the potential seal/source. To know that there were steadily elevated gas in the Kimmeridge suggests its been drilled. Gonna be an interesting core. :) they did estimate it to be around 30m of KL-4, gonna be plenty of updates on our way to TD.

Ed.

Mikey,

No it just means heavier gas or condensate is involved, heavier gases are liquid at room temperature so they condense as they move up the bore where there's less temp and pressure. So you'll get natural gas and natural gas liquids produced, therefore wet gas.

ps funky numptie...you're always wrong...if the GAS cap fits!!! Gla holders.... BB's flowtest permit, expected soon, will add significant value...;-)))

pps funky, it's great to see the share price pushing North, don't you agree????;-)))

Being a complete non techno in this field---does WET GAS mean oil traces or oil presence?? Exciting times to come--we hope!!

Lol funky you desperate numptie...looking for the negative in every positive....you snide creature.... .the whole of the oil saturated Kimmeridge Interval throughout the SE of England is gas driven, with several gas discoveries in and around the area including Godley Bridge which lies within the license area, Baxters Copse as well as Albury which is close to Holmwood,.....BP and Esso and the other majors with a history of drilling in the SE of England were all hoping to find gas, that's exactly why the oil saturated Kimmeridge was overlooked as they drilled deeper looking for gas, assuming any oil within the Kimmeridge wouldn't flow, and that's why HH was drilled so deeply, in the hope of findng a commercial gas reserve.....the fact that so mo much gas has been detected above the first kimmeridge limestone is very good news indeed, and would be a game changer if gas was in commercial volumes as well as the expected free flowing oil...Gla holders Exciting times....Onwards and Up!!! ;-)

Well as expected it seems they've encountered the KL and have increasing gas and wet gas throughout this section. So we've a source rock here, not surprisingly either. they've chosen a coring point just above the expected 1250m first reservoir. Great to see elevated gas as that can be associated with either oil or wet gas. Will be interesting to see analysis of this first KL. Sounds to me as if there's both potential for reservoir as the gas is becoimg elevated as they drill into a potential KL and often you find gas/wet gas as a cap above oil. So looking promising at present in terms of source and potential reservoir/seal. Also good news that the well remains currently under budget which will please many. Still another 500m or so to drill to 1700m measured depth, but a very interesting start already.

Ed.
