11/1/2011 07:37 | Gentlemen, Would anyone care to hazard what net tangible assets are now at TIR and how much of that is cash? Simon Cawkwell | simon cawkwell
09/1/2011 20:12 | i see this is still trading at a significant discount to nav one day colin bird might do something with it trouble is he and bruce rowan don't appear to able to agree on a stratergy so this has got left behind in the bull market | ntv
07/1/2011 14:52 | I've updated the spreadsheet in the header to reflect today's NAV update. Obviously not much has changed, but I'd appreciate it if anyone has time to check for mistakes. (cash position calculated by multiplying NAV per share, by shares in issue net of treasury shares, then subtracting the total value of the listed assets as @ 31 Dec 2010) based on *Quotes may be delayed up to 20 minutes. Information is provided 'as is' and solely for informational purposes, not for trading purposes or advice. | fordtin
07/1/2011 14:38 | same old same old -- crushing inactivity !! their two best investments, Pan African and Nautical were sold when they still had much further to run - the question is WHAT FOR ??? Like , its as if we needed more cash. JUst please get to 3.5p so as I can exit this boring disappointment with some dignity after 7 years of holding. | curt3
07/1/2011 14:05 | snape....it is wages...lol. I think things will move quite quickly this year. NOP should do nicely for us as well. | maxbubble
07/1/2011 13:53 | Max, if only that cash was being put to use! | snape
07/1/2011 13:53 | Very disappointed that management have slept through a substantial market rally without putting a single penny of the cash reserves to use. I hope they don't expect any remuneration for doing absolutely nothing. | fordtin
07/1/2011 13:22 | Franconia has likely been sold because of bid so another £250k to be put to use somehere else. | maxbubble
07/1/2011 13:08 | NAV out looks like they have been busy - Not! still, pleased they hadn't sold any holdings. Was hoping for more of an update... | cityfarmer
07/1/2011 08:52 | So midday (?) we find out what they have been doing with their money. Hopefully a pleasant surprise this time. | snape
04/1/2011 13:14 | FT - great - thanks for the spreadsheet info. | double6
04/1/2011 13:05 | There's a link to my calcs in the header. I'm hoping they've used the cash pile to participate in the recent sector rally. If so, the NAV could be significantly higher. Fingers x'd based on | fordtin
04/1/2011 13:01 | FT - thanks anyway!! My quick calcs suggest current NAV of around 5p - interesting | double6
04/1/2011 12:59 | re VGM 21/10/2010 share consolidation on a one for fifty basis edit - I see you found it while I was looking up the date ;o) | fordtin
04/1/2011 12:57 | Okay - sorted. 1 for 50 share split. | double6
04/1/2011 12:51 | Looking at their investments..... Vatukoula Gold Mines - 13,333,332 shares ..... ...current share price of VGM is £2.15 I'm obviously missing something - are these warrants or something ?? | double6
02/1/2011 14:43 | Br has done some great investing with SVE. It is difficult to understand why he has not invested the huge TIR cash in at least some of the great mining companies in the SVE portfolio, such as rrr, rgm, sres, bem, ggp etc etc. If he is not investing the cash in the current commodity bull market he should return the cash to the shareholder. That way the tir will have its value realised. | ceaserxzy
02/1/2011 14:13 | This life (in TIR) has been a long time coming. Based on asset value TIR is under-priced but based on management's performance the massive discount was in order. B.R. had a reputation that I invested in and was proved wrong to have done so. The new fellow may have a good track-record but until the new management can prove their worth with TIR it is likely to face a sell-off as the price visits previous highs e.g 3p & 4p. Any signs of serious accumulation at that those points and I'll know whether this millstone has been worth keeping. | witteklip
31/12/2010 12:31 | NAV update is due today so expect any moment. Have just been trying to buy a few more and these are in very short supply! will be interesting to see what they have done with the cash or what they are planning to do. A few positive comments and these could really start to move - very over due in my opinion.. Good luck fellow Tigers. | cityfarmer
31/12/2010 09:18 | NAV update imminent - circa 5p ?? | double6

26/12/2010 18:14 | Fordtin - could you advise how you manage to get 3 x small charts side-by-side in the Header like that? Mine simply drop vertically - as in my CP+ thread! | skyship
23/12/2010 12:09 | curt - If they've got an ounce of sense between them they will have been putting the cash pile to good use in the recent market recovery. I'm hoping that appointing Colin Bird as a director will be the catalyst to bring the rest of the board out of their coma. If they're still sitting in cash at the next update I'll probably sell up and put the funds elsewhere, but if they've been sensible I'll be looking to buy more. Am I correct in thinking the next update is due in a few weeks time? | fordtin
23/12/2010 11:42 | Thanks for graph Ford ! Its so long ago I cant remember. Maybe I topped up some at 4p !! Anyway, seriously disappointed with the failure of strategy as it seems criminal to be sitting on cash getting no return when oppertunities abound over last few years. When I spoke to Bruce Rowan some months ago he seemed to think that it was a great achievement to have retained our cash - hardly in line with company strategy. The fact remains that handsome management fees are drawn out each year for 2 or 3 simple transactions per year. | curt3
22/12/2010 12:05 | Curt, I know the feeling, I've owned this so long I can't even remember what I paid. I do remember regretting I didn't sell the lot at 4p. At this rate another 2-3 years to go unless we get a spike. | traderabc |
