The only thing I would say on reflection is that it not a financial problem and that the papers and especially The Times in my view love to blow things out of proportion but MA does help them write such headlines. Sort yourself out guys!!!

Popped into the newcastle branch today. I have to say it had everything under the sun at a great price and the quality is on par with other retailers, but I thought many of their designs were uninsperational and generally poorly thought out. All imo but the girlfriend agreed and it's a shame because I visited a few out door shops in tne area and the price difference in spd was amazingly low on like for like items. If they improved on their designs and general offerings I think they would clean up.

Yup ,
Store certainly changed for the better

It used to be a shambles and considering it is only 3 miles or so from MA's home , I was surprised that it appeared so shabby.
I thought that MA might have paid the odd visit to keep an eye on things
Maybe he did/has as it is transformed ....

Not quite Selfridges yet though !

IgnobleThe good think about that is it doesn't really cost anything for SPD to keep there shops looking neat and tidy but could help them in the long run.

For the first time in some years ... went into my local
Sports Direct
How it has improved. ...displays are very good , clothing
rails neat and tidy and not overstocked.
Very pleasantly surprised!

300p is new floor in share price. Strong Buy at this level as these are very cheap imo

I see SPD has slowed down in "buy back"
i suppose this is due to share price being over £3 as they said an avg of £3

DD Ashley is a wheeler and dealer, which is why I invested. He will get this up one way or another and if that means getting others to buy his stock so it can't be traded he will do it. I'm surprised he hasn't got JD sports to buy a chunk, he did it for them when times were tough.

Not sure exactly what his plan is but he will have one.

I'm not aloud to show shareholders list for legal reasons but I've done a quick tote and 73 % of shares are held in safe hands. This doesn't indicate in what direction they might go but from time to time SPD could be prone to bear squeezes .Let's hope institutions don't lend out stock to those nasty bears.

Not many shares in free float. Strong Buy imo as the Buy back continues to take even more share off the market. Good luck all
