Sports Direct announces that on 12 January 2017 it purchased

516,100 of its ordinary shares from Citigroup Global Markets Limited (acting as the Company's broker) on the London Stock Exchange at a price of 287.4 pence per share.

The purchased shares will all be held as treasury shares.

The high street shops were buzzing.
My partner visited spd at southampton and fareham.
Had no problem getting what she wanted, but reported busy.

1 shopper, 2 stores, but had she said it was empty then i would likely be looking for an excuse such as it was because folk were ordering online, wheras the truth is, se went to the stores, and also ordered online... (to pick up instore)

Forgot to mention DEB update out. I've not read it yet. SPD also have an option on those .I'd like to think I gave everyone a clue 9.29 Friday morning about the week ahead and my thoughts on DEB.Busy day ahead for non food retailers .

Good trading update in JD Sports this morning. One thing it does say to SPD is to up your game. SPD do have a 4% stake so six and one and half a dozen of the other. Be interesting to see how both stocks behave today. Being a SPD holder I think I would have preferred a kind of Goldilocks trading statement from JD.

Nice rally on £/$ . I noticed DEB have been strong today and JD's worth looking out for tomorrow .FTSE futures up 15.
