Think there will be some resistance as they approach the 290 level. Can't see them getting through it without a struggle .

No probs.For the record they already held 42,137,508 shares in treasury before the first share buyback on 28th July.Following the purchase yesterday there were 56,387,354 shares in treasury (thus 14,249,846 purchased to date).Hopefully the resident expert can correct it if it's wrong.......it probably is, as I went to approved school not public.DD

SPD price seems to have found a natural level down here. I would expect to see some good volume down at these levels.

Buyback this morning was 628100 and the volume yesterday was 4.6m.

I think you'll find that tomorrow's buyback won't match up to all the volume today . Still think there's other people out there participating .

Equaliser Just noticed those trades. Glad to see there's lots of volume. Hopefully they can clear that seller out. I keep thinking it's Standard Life. You would expect an announcement shortly.SPD can only buy another 25m.

ports Direct announces that on 27 January 2017 it purchased 604,600 of its ordinary shares from Citigroup Global Markets Limited (acting as the Company's broker) on the London Stock Exchange at a price of 292.9 pence per share. The purchased shares will all be held as treasury shares.

Following the above purchase, the Company holds 55,759,254 ordinary shares as treasury shares. The total number of ordinary shares in issue (excluding shares held as treasury shares) is 584,843,115.

I think we can assume any large buys are the company buying it's own shares.

Big seller today but guessing SPD the buyer. You would expect a bigger than normal share buy back tomorrow . If not someone else is buying.
