binladin - they will not be offering over £42.15 and read the last update, the PUSCA is what will probably get accepted by the two largest shareholders IF any deal goes through and it looks like the board still think it undervalues the company. Depends how much sway the two largest holders have...

also - ABinbev have already indicated that £42.15 is it, there won't be a higher bid.

the fact that they've chosen now to go public with the deal means it'll probably go through/start public negotiations but there's no certainty that the cash only offer will win out - it's one or the other.

read the terms - £42.15 is the CASH only deal on the table, the share/equity mix deal values the company around the current level, £37.49 - and at the moment the largest shareholder at 27% favours the share/equity mix, hence why it's probably still sitting around this level.


that could all change obviously but that's how it looks at the mo...

The Board of SABMiller notes the recent press speculation and confirms that
Anheuser-Busch InBev SA/NV ("ABInBev") has informed SABMiller that it intends
to make a proposal to acquire SABMiller. No proposal has yet been received and
the Board of SABMiller has no further details about the terms of any such
proposal.

My alert triggered ex div coming up on Sab soon, nothing on the website though. Anyone know when ex div is? Alert shows approx 0.50p to be paid
