01/3/2017 07:46 | Netcurtains, which conpany do you want to compare REDT to next???? you should choose a comparrable company with the same technology.....pluck Try UET, Vionx, Vanadis power, Redflow Energy, Rongka power, Gildemeister here are a few to start with... And understand that REDT is not into hydrogen, lead acid or lithium, but they are working on a hybrid energy storage device that will fit all gid applications....eg. short term power boost that lithium can provide and long term energy delivery that vanadium flow battery,s can deliver.... note the power used for lithium and energy used for flow battery,s... | dlg3
01/3/2017 07:39 | Title: Battery storage system at Ysgol Abermorddu Published by: Flintshire County Council Publication Date: 28/02/2017 Deadline Date: 28/03/2017 Deadline Time: 15:00 Notice Type: Contract Notice Has Documents: No Abstract: The works shall consist of a full turnkey solution including the design, supply, installation, connection, commissioning and handover of a liquid vanadium flow battery storage system for the storage of existing solar generation, when solar generation is in excess of school demand. This will also include, but should not be limited to, the provision of all civil works, trenching, fencing, and connection to the main distribution board. The battery will be discharged overnight using stored solar generation (i.e. time shifting) for use by the school and will not be charged via grid supplied electricity unless there is a shortfall in stored electricity and grid electricity is deemed necessary to complete the charge. Off grid operation is not required. This project is subject to planning approval being granted and the contractor will be required to provide design drawings and associated information to be submitted with the planning application. No formal contract will be signed until planning permission has been granted. | dlg3

28/2/2017 19:33 | The content gives away why they went for lithium, they required a lot of power and not a lot of energy, we are cheap on energy not power. I assume time duration isn't long either else that would have swayed towards flow machines, I suspect without looking energy duration is less than 2 hours and more likely an hour max. I'm sure come our Hybrid solution would be a solution when available, for now it is not where a flow machine fits into the renewable business storage systems. Had duration been 3-4 hours plus of energy we would no doubt been a consideration. | dogrunner11

28/2/2017 16:48 | Provinces in the north of China wasted as much as 43% of their wind power in 2016. Investment in energy storage is seen as part of the solution (Image by Greenpeace / John Novis) Despite another banner year for renewables growth in China, the country’s grid is still struggling to bring clean electricity to consumers. The problem is so serious in China’s north and west that turbines were forced to sit idle for much of 2016. In response, China’s policymakers are now turning to energy storage to boost the grid’s ability to accommodate wind and solar power. | dlg3

28/2/2017 12:45 | Zambia Signs Agreement for Second Round of Scaling Solar Wednesday, February 22, 2017 Zambia signed agreements for a second mandate with the World Bank’s Scaling Solar program. The new Scaling Solar mandate will begin with an initial procurement round of up to 200 MW of utility-scale clean energy, with subsequent rounds to follow with a goal of developing 500 MW of renewable power. The Request for Qualifications for the second round are expected to be released in late March 2017. The African country’s first agreement under the Scaling Solar program led to the successful auction in May 2016 for two solar plants with up to 50 MW each. The World Bank approved a package of financing and guarantees for one of the two winning bidders and will review the same for the second winner in the coming weeks | dlg3 |
