21/7/2018 17:33 | I thought I would open a new board in view of the change of ticker to RAVP. This is named "Raven Property 12% Pref. - Cumulative & Irredeemable" and can be located by searching for RAVP in the "Free BB" tab at the top of the page. I will in future be posting there. | kenny
20/7/2018 11:04 | Reports indicate the company is negotiating the purchase of about $90m of a logistics park near Moscow, namely, the other half of the logistics park that they purchased in November 2017. That would utilise part of their cash pile, initially at least, leaving about $155m in cash after allowing for a half-year of amortisation but ignoring any loans secured on other recent purchases. Presumably, like the other recent purchases, the price paid will be at or below replacement build cost. Hope you are all hanging tight to your RAVP. At 148p to buy that is an 8.1% yield on an investment which has coupon cover exceeding 2 on earnings. The company also holds over 4 years of coupon payments in cash - after this purchase and based on the total coupons for the two classes of preference share. The Lloyds preference shares still trade on a higher rating despite the danger they may prove not to be permanent. Maybe RAVP will never be re-rated but the secure high yield is sufficient return for me. | kenny
07/7/2018 14:48 | I very much doubt that. It would be expensive to put a management team in place in a new country especially when there are plenty of good opportunities in Russia. | kenny
07/7/2018 13:41 | I suppose name change to expand Worldwide. | montyhedge
06/7/2018 23:48 | Quite strange that we have a few sellers of RAVP when the Russian economy is forecast to achieve moderate, though consistent growth over the next five years. Also, at the beginning of 2018 there was talk about $80 oil, then a couple of months ago $90, today there is talk of even $100. Any one of those figures are going to mean the Russian government finances are going to be even stronger than current forecasts. Also talk that Trump and Putin are to meet in the next few months - I suspect that both sides need a "success" so there may be pressure to achieve something positive. I have learnt over the years' that if one invests based on sentiment, one is going to swing from elation to depression - almost daily. | kenny

29/6/2018 07:57 | RAV RNS "The Company announces that it has approved the issue and allotment of 33,431 new preference shares of 1 pence each in the Company with ticker RAVP (the "Preference Shares") following payment of the scrip preference share dividend.Dealing is expected to commence on 2 July 2018. 28/6/2018 22:47 | It does indeed appear that they wished to remove "Russia" from the name. However, I do not see that that makes a difference as anyone even casually looking at the company will realise that more or less all of their property is in Russia. Maybe it has some relevance to the potential listing of the company's shares in either Johannesburg and/or Moscow(?). | kenny

27/6/2018 21:27 | Maybe Neil Woodford is smart enough and well informed enough (through working hard enough) that he is not phased by a change of name/ticker -especially when that change has been well publicised and announced by RNS?Is that a possibility do you think? | tournesol
27/6/2018 18:52 | Anyone know why they changed their name. | my retirement fund
27/6/2018 18:51 | Perhaps no one can find the stock anymore since the name change. When I type in RUSP I now get a blank. If it does this to me it will do the same to your Neil Woodfords of this world. | my retirement fund
27/6/2018 00:44 | Trading volumes in RAVP have really dropped off since the new Articles were passed. Presumably, those who hold have decided that this preference share, having become an irredeemable preference share - because 75% of the class will never vote to be repaid - is rather more valuable than before the Articles were amended. Certainly more valuable than the current share price to someone like me who needs a secure yield over the long term. Presumably, fund managers have reclassified RAVP to the long term part of their fixed income portfolio. On the other hand, the lack of any material buying is also a bit of a mystery to me. I would have thought the irredeemable factor has added considerable benefit for pension funds, individuals with a SIPP/ISA, those interested in a compounding return and/or those attracted by the tax benefits of the scrip. | kenny

05/6/2018 10:17 | The name of my holding has changed from RUSP, to RAVP, so they (Lloyds) have updated that correctly, however I can no longer buy (or sell) shares(!) - the message keeps stating I have to phone up. I'll try their customer services I guess, perhaps they are just being slow updating for some reason. Good to know others have no issue though - thanks. | king suarez
