Decided to scratch my short strategy for the time being and reversed long at 6570p. Looks like it is trending up today slowly. That normally signifies strength.

Thanks abc125. Yes, it's certainly been a roller-coaster ride. Been trading the range on RRS for several years now. It's a good yo-yo share.

A lot depends on US Dollar strength, or lack of it, imv.
RRS is exposed as GOLD is not. Check the relative performance.

Re upside I'm just going by round numbers now: next stops are 6750p,7000p and 7250p. I am going to initiate long term shorts at these levels along with a short I took today at 6500p.

Doing well in NY too... $2 in the money on my calls for gearing long RRS.
Difficult to know/guess where the upside is on this. Any ideas from chartists?
Blackrock certainly think there's more upside.

Closed the 6410p short for a 90 point gain and reversed long for a small 35 point gain today - the long was up 90 at one stage but I held on expecting it to punch through Friday's highs but it reversed down into the close.

The 15-20 point spread on IG is a bit of a nuisance - doesn't make it ideal for day trading.

Welcome keylife. RRS is a volatile share but great for swing trading.

I decided set a limit at £62 on a 1/3 of my holding but when that went Wednesday I set another limit order for another 1/3 to go &74.

There is so much negativity in the markets with excess borrowing political uncertainty, war currency uncertainty that gold becomes a harbinger of last resort at such times. If I had not already bought in earlier I would be a buyer of gold but think Randgold has such large deposits and potential that its mines are running very well with only the gold price holding it back

Went short today at 6410p. The rise has been preposterous. There could be more lunacy ahead so will stop out at 6500p...ish.

My birds shorting alarm just went off!
This is in a bubble..and it looks ripe to pop...hence i've advised clients of a pending bursting sound with a price target of £32.50

If I am right there could be a tremendous shorting opportunity here down to 2800p or even 1500p. Time will tell. I am expecting a top around 6500p if we have not topped out already.

However, my case rests on gold not making a weekly or monthly close above $1300.

I switched to a ftse/financial fund -- top holdings are HSBC/lloy/LGEN and other top ftse stocks.I was never keen on ftse above 6000 -- current level seems ok. Hoping it stays above 5000 this time round.

Rrs is in fresh air territory. We have to go back to feb 2013 to find any meaningful resistance at 6464p.

Good move. Leave a bit on the table for the next man as they say. What financials are you looking at? I'm thinking lloyds and would like a fill at multi year low support at 46p but not sure if we get there on the current downswing.

Sold 75% of my holdings here -- excellent profit over 8-9 months.Moving some money to financials but will keep most of it as cash until things settle down.

The gold price rise is going parabolic. And we know how parabolas end. My upside gold target is $1255 before either a correction or a continuation of the bear market.

A gold price of $1255 would be a 20% gain from the $1046 low.

During this 5 year bear market there has been one previous bear market rally where gold advanced 21% before collapsing.

good my whole pension fund is with blackrock gold, got three more years before cash in time, gold could be 5k an ounce by then.

WOW AS I PREDICTED AT THE END OF THE YEAR ON THE GOLD THREAD- BUY GOLD IN EVERY FORM AND SHORT THE DOW, I HOPE A FEW OF YOU FOLLOWED ME INTO THE PROMISED LAND, BUT IF NOT DO IT NOW THIS IS JUST THE START OF THE PERFECT STORM. GOLD 2K AN OUNCE BT YEAR END.
