30/8/2016 07:54 | I think its been trundling along like most goldies dave but this is very good news imo | hazl
30/8/2016 07:49 | Yes with the constant down pressure I thought there was something up. All going to plan though great news | investment dave
30/8/2016 07:46 | Well they have progressed more than I thought! ' The Environmental Impact Study for the development and construction of, and the mining permit for the Project have now been approved and issued respectively by the Provincial Mining Authority. This is a significant milestone in terms of the continuing development and construction of the Project. Initial earthworks commenced at the Project in April 2016 and all equipment and plant supplies for the Project have now been purchased. Construction is also advancing as planned with initial production expected to commence during September 2016. A total of US$13 million will be invested in the project to take it into production including capital expenditure and working capital. The newly purchased mining fleet, consisting of three Caterpillar 773G trucks and a CAT 390C excavator, is now on site and currently being commissioned. The new equipment will replace some of the existing mine fleet transferred from Lomada, enabling the Company to demobilise all hire machines and is also expected to increase the overall earth moving capacity, resulting in a reduction in unit costs in local currency significantly.' PLEASED with that myself. | hazl
30/8/2016 07:31 | Nice update | investment dave

08/8/2016 14:29 | GSG, Couldn't agree more with your 224. Mind you, the 'Beyond Debate' clique was pretty firmly entrenched at the last AGM I attended - when I remember meeting you - several years ago. I was already on the outer orbits by that stage. The reason I remain a watcher years later is the massive potential identified by Marc Sale - the real star of the old crew IMO, and a huge loss to PGD. However, if current management can prove themselves competent, a re-rating is very possible. FWIW I think PGD is ripe for share consolidation. JS - if you're an onlooker, I still remember you kindly and hope you're doing OK. | doobydave
08/8/2016 11:56 | IMO the real interest here is whether the new CEO has been able to transform the mentality of the employees from top to bottom. If he can have re invigorated the personnel, got rid of the waste (of which there was plenty with all those non execs etc) and created a results based company then we should see progress. Given that he is based in Argentina, as opposed to travelling there first class when required, and that he is full time, with a proven track record of providing shareholder returns, surely he can't help but improve reputation of PGD with some decent newsflow. | gsg
08/8/2016 11:23 | Yes, if you call cheaply about 90% less than Humphries paid on the open market at 16p. Currently hold here but no great quantity bought at 1.81p. Won't be as loyal as I have in the past and will be out as soon as there's a reasonable profit to bank. | lochlea
08/8/2016 11:18 | Good for you, and I hope you bought them cheaply, as I did in OVG and has at last taken off. Let's hope for the best here as well. 8-) | hazl
08/8/2016 11:09 | I am. Hold over a million of them!! | lochlea
08/8/2016 10:58 | WHY aren't you in them then? | hazl
08/8/2016 10:48 | PGD's ugly sister Co LND (where H&P reside) has multi-bagged in past 4 months........ and that's very much still an explorer. | lochlea
08/8/2016 10:39 | THAT IS PURELY because it is seen as an explorer and not a producer. IF gold continues to be important, going on forward, then smaller companies will have their day. In my opinion, its a good time to get them when they are cheap. No guarantees of course but that's what I have been doing. Some have started to get interesting for me......... IMO | hazl
08/8/2016 10:34 | PGD stock should have leapt in the first 8 months of this year. Instead it has marked time while some others have 5-bagged and more. | charles clore
08/8/2016 09:58 | plenty of time yet if gold continues to be in favour............ imo | hazl
08/8/2016 09:48 | Maybe they simply need to deliver, for once? Far too often in the past they promised the earth and delivered far less. Massive investment has been made here, must be what £150 million? Cap Oeste you feel simply has to be roaring success otherwise the Concert Party will be wanting to review the situation. Anymore dilution would be a nightmare. Not quite last chance saloon.......... Still at least the newbies should make some money....... long term investors who bought 30p+ with Humphries have been somewhat shafted. | lochlea
08/8/2016 09:36 | lochlea, working on the new mine production figures and projections which Justino posted some time ago(which seemed fair), the current market cap against the prospective new mine earnings, the PE ratio does not add up. Either something is drastically wrong or this is the most undervalued stock ever imo. I'm hoping we'll find out which over the next few months. | gsg
08/8/2016 09:22 | GSG, couldn't agree more - Cap Oeste is such a MAJOR event I must admit I had expected to see loads of speculative buying ahead of production news. But PGD trading volume has been almost non-existent over past few weeks. Maybe once it starts the flood gates will open? | lochlea
08/8/2016 08:57 | Looking ahead, this is a very important quarter for PGD imo. Will there be some proper news from the new regime regarding the new mine? Can they prove that they can meet timelines and targets set out in previous announcements? IMO the next couple of months will define whether this company has broken from the past and can actually deliver on its strategy, or if they continue with their endless lame performance and excuses. In which case they will continue to languish where they deserve to be. So far the new CEO has done nothing to give investors a clue as to how successful or unsuccessful he can be. Lets hope he can show how good he is. | gsg
08/8/2016 08:54 | According to Mr 'watch this space' there are still dozens of loyal disciples who no longer post. Fed up with the critical + negative stuff being posted on here. So they keep all the positive 'insider' stuff to themselves. At least the bullish ramping which misled so many decent punters has all but gone. All of HPD have also long gone - through the exit door as 'retired'. Although H&P doing the same thing as directors at LND. Fortunately there's been signs of that becoming a 'phoenix'. If only because they have engaged several external professional consultants over past 18 months and suddenly matters are looking a lot more interesting. Maybe the same will happen here now that there's a new broom working full-time at the coal face, and knows what it takes to make a success of things? | lochlea
08/8/2016 08:01 | Good observations Lochlea. The devotees were born of Brancote and mistakenly believed that HPD Exploration would be a repeat performance. For awhile that appeared to be a very real prospect that the management might repeat their successes.Unfortunat | steeplejack |
