Trouble is in this market many people just look to scalp a few percent. The real money will be made by holding in my view as OPTI could well be closer to £1 quite soon as news is released. Anyway good luck whatever you decide to do.

Yes I suppose 10% movement will trigger shifts in position - however with news on cholesterol front coming in just over a fortnight, continued consolidation might have been expected, might it not?

The market has been weak all morning. A 10% plus move will flush some traders and stale holders. I traded my stock today as the move had over extended. Hopefully a week of consolidation within today's candle.

I do appreciate the point you were making Judi, just as I am aware that you weren't arguing the case of one trading style over another. For may part I was merely calling attention to the fluidity and straightforwardness of online dealing, that you might consider it. For the record I encountered no difficulty in purchasing a modest 5,000 OPTI online around 8:30 (and yes, I know, I had previously declared that I would not be extending my already overweight position!)

I am just pointing out that with a broker there has never been any shortage of stock this morning and that continues to be the case as we chat

Spike - I wanted to add to my existing SB, but CS won't accept it on line so I phoned and they still refused. They will only allow me to close. Never had this with OPTI.

Horses for courses Judi; online so efficient; 8 seconds (is it?) to accept quote - buy or sell. No best-guessing if broker was able to place your limit order. No downsides to online that I can see.

Just rang my broker can get 20k on a 10 day settlement at 72.67

Corespreads have just set OPTI to close only, they will not accept new buy orders.

My broker confirmed to me that there was plenty
8.05 and about 8.20
All water under the bridge now

Not true for me JJ, I got 2,500 at 8:04 without difficulty, I tried again several times for another 2.5k and could only get 500 (at 8:07) and 1.25k (8:08), 500 (at 8:11), and 1.25k (at 8:13).

So no there was NOT plenty of stock that I was able to access on line.

Yes lot's of difficulty getting anything online, but eventually got a total of 6,000
