I called capita and they told me I have to sign up with my shares and tell them what price I want to buy or sell. They would not tell me if there are any other sellers or buyers though....
Will anyone here be going to the AGM to question the board on what has gone on?

Call Capita ask about Optare. the negativity will hurt you.

Why do theses people consider themselves above shareholders. In my book they are lowlife and will break all the rules as long as they obtain personal benefit for themselves.

It was convenient for the board of Optare to pay lipservice to PI's by asking Capita to set up a platform (for a while).

NO ONE at capita are going to go out of their way to match buyers and sellers, its not what they do.

GET real PI's have been stuffed,.

I personally contacted Optare and asked if they could find a buyer for my shares, the reaction was close to disgust.

Only one way of dealing with this kind of stealing is to set it out for litigation.

I will, if more than 2 other PI's join me, seek out a Lawyer, put the issue to the lawyer, seek advice from the lawyer, to see if their is a possible claim for damages, if so does a claim have winning potential. If it does then obtain a CFA to take the action forward under a conditional fee arrangement.IE No Win No Fee.

PI's are getting weary of the actions of Co Directors/Investors in AIM listed Companies.

It is not a fair playing field any longer.

Action of the type I discuss here is the only way to get recompense for PI's investment.

Further it will make AIM Company Directors think twice about shafting PI's.

Awards do not sell buses.

Company debt continues to increase (according to last results).

Order book was stated in most recent results to be near historic lows. No significant volume orders announced publicly and possibly most importantly no orders for the new DD announced that I am aware of. BUT the company may be selling more overseas.

Optare seem to have missed out on an important tfl opportunity: see Route One magazine current article headed 'Chinese in £19 million BYD bus tie-up with ADL.'

I see the optare AGM is around 10 Sep.

Optare seem to have been getting quite a lot orders lately for buses and are about to win a couple of awards again.

Does anyone think shareholders may have a change to redeem any value here in the future?

Does anyone know if people are still trading these shares off market via capita?

Well, Kim, I understand that it costs about £70,000 per year to maintain an AIM listing so they could have got rid of Fickling instead of delisting and so destroying the last vestiges of shareholder value, and destroying the goodwill of PIs who were, in common parlance, 'shafted.'

I wonder what will be the size of the loss that IMHO is likely to be declared for this current financial year? I'll pencil in £2.5 million.

I wonder if any organs of the press would be interested in further exploring and publicising Fickling's record of remuneration against the company's (and shareholder's) losses? There cannot be (I am guessing) many companies (even subsidiaries of bigger groups) that declare multimillion pound losses for more than seven years consecutively.

Thanks Kim for pointing me to the foot of the web page I had overlooked the investors section. I overestimated annual loss by 10%.

Fickling's remuneration reduced by a few thousand pounds this last year (I wonder how many hours he puts in for more than £4250 a month) - he has been paid more than half a million pounds since joining the Board - but clearly Ashok value him despite the contempt they have shown to PIs. Fickling's oversight of shareholder value destruction is IMHO startling. His friends doubtless wish that he has a comfortable bed in Whitley Bay so that during his sleepless nights he may reflect upon his actions and inactions.

No decker sales to date (I am reminded that one of the Bus magazines published that they had been told by the company in I think October of last year that they had included metrodecker in three bids) and order book at only over £20 million. What will Ashok do next I wonder - do they really believe that they can achieve break even within the next two years?

Good luck KIm!

You beat me to it JSB! Not as large a loss as anticipated and Fickling was paid less than the year before, something a bit positive in the negative, if you see what I mean!

The matched bargain facility is in the investors section which is accessible via the bottom of the Optare website:-

Optare Plc Matched Bargain Service

The Matched bargain Service is provided by Capita Asset Services on behalf of Optare Plc

Telephone Capita Asset Services Helpline: +44 (0) 203 170 0234 (calls are charged at local rate plus network extras. Lines are open from 09:00 – 17:00 Monday to Friday excluding UK Bank Holidays)

Just had an idea to check Companies House and indeed Optare accounts for year 2014-2015 have been filed and are available to view. Turnover up £57.8 million from £56.9 million previous year, loss £4.8 million up from £4.1 million previous year.

Fickling (Non-executive Chairman) who, in my view, has been in large part responsible for the destruction of private investor shareholder value leading to delisting from AIM, was paid £55,000.

Did Optare institute the matched bargain facility for those who remained shareholders after delisting? I do not see it on the website.

I'll let you know JSB! I am sure the Report will make interesting reading!😀 During the current year to date (calendar, not theirs) they have registered 35 more buses than last year; I don't suppose it will make much difference though!

Anybody still following this thread which I see is still functioning a shareholder? If so please do in due course post significant numbers from the Annual Report and Accounts. I am curious to see how much the company lost in 2014-2105 just for 'old times sake'. And how much they paid Fickling for the year.

I hope that Optare did not win any part of the order MTG. As Ashok, with the well-remunerated assistance of non-exec Chairman Fickling have presided over the destruction of shareholder value it would be only poetic justice to see Optare fail absolutely.
