Hi Mdkhamed - If you want to sell these shares, there will be buyer but unfortunately you will have to offer them for a very significant discount due to them being delisted.

Has anyone contacted ashok leyland and asked them if they will buy the shares? They own 99.08%

They can be traded on the Asset Match platform. They delisted from AIM but you can still trade. Company really turned the corner and less than 1% shares not in Optare's hands.

Hang in there, the company is doing great ... I live in hope they return to the market or snap up the remaining odd 1% they don't own. Was hoping someone would ask a few questions like what do they intend to do about shareholders if anything at the recent AGM ...

Hi,

I'm another holder suffering from the events of 2012 (well I call it that as that was the beginning of the end for me)

I hold c.800k shares, not a lot but was £5.2k worth at the time.

Only check on it from time to time, basically a dead duck but if we could get something back then that would be a bonus.

Anyway just chucking my name in the hat so you know there's someone else out there if we are going to do anything, so please keep me informed otherwise maybe one day the OPE dream will be realised!

Optare's technical chief, Glenn Saint, is now Technical Director at Arrival Ltd, at Banbury.

Below is not a rant at anyone here, just a general rant and disappointment at the company for leaving shareholders in such an annoying position

Optare will not return to Aim.
Ashok Leyland are a huge multi billion pound business, they now own 99.1% of Optare.
They likely do not want a partner so they won't sell, they don't need the money as they have bought all of these shares and paid off 10's of millions of Optares debt. Why would they now come back to Aim? Owning 99%, there would be no point at all.
The disappointment for me, is that the remaining minority shareholders are holding a bunch of shares that they cannot sell and could be sitting with for many years to come.
We also have no idea what they are worth at all so almost impossible to value. There are no real buyers of sellers by the look of it. (the million or so on the auction at 0.5ish is very unlikely to trade - why would anyone even buy that?)
This has been delisted for nearly 3.5 years now. The only way I can see out of this is if Ashok Leyland eventually buy the remaining shares. Does anyone else have any thoughts on this? It seems only around 4 or 5 people on here.

I'm clinging on to the hope that they go back on AIM... I'm sure they'll want to tidy things up and get the remaining 1% they don't own currently. Might hear something after the General Meeting this month.

The online auction offering shares at 0.4 is imo never going to trade due to the recent debt for equity massive dilution.
I was wondering if there were any real interested buyers or sellers out there.

Did anyone end up contacting optare and ashok about what will happen to our shares?

I doubt they will come back to AIM as they own 99%.

I'd personally just like the money sooner rather than later. They will either buy us out or leave us hanging for goodness knows how long.

They have clearly turned around massively as I suspected, which is why they diluted us to oblivion to take all of the upside. I just want out and to forget about it.

I would like to think that Optare consider returning to AIM as they would attract investors this time around as they could be a massive company in the making and certainly need expanding.

superhoop - someone answered the same question about M.T.Glass on another thread. Apparently he mentioned about 2 years ago that he had got married and was off to tour America with his wife in a motorhome. Perhaps he never came back?
