30/3/2005 09:11 | So whats happening - no news so I suppose the recent fall is due to the share comming back to a reasonable rating after its guidy climb? Or is it that results will be disappointing considering the above points? | verynervy

14/3/2005 23:28 | g h, they are an icelandic investment group, have done various searches not come up with anything. M.T.glass runs a very good thread called the "icelanders are coming". might give you a bit of help. have to say these vikings can see value, and are pretty savvey when it comes to a deal. Just a couple of points on NWF. Visted a very cold and deserted garden centre afew weeks ago, chated with one of the staff who said things very slow since christmas. The other side of the coin is that many farmers have had to keep livestock under cover, and have had to buy extra feed. not holding NWF at the mo. am in WYN . | getscenic

20/2/2005 16:29 | Maybe something to do with stories doing the rounds about Texaco.. I'm sure I read they were selling off their forecourt shops ?? | dgwhughes
19/2/2005 14:37 | I have a minimal holding; my guess is that there is something amiss at one of the subs ?Fuel where the margins are low and demand has been poor due to the mild winter. | mw8156
19/2/2005 12:23 | Biggest volume for years was on results day, Jan 31. A down day with no next-day-rebound. I guess that should have been a clue. Even on my favourite stocks I bank the bulk of my gains ahead of results, and did so on this one. I maintained a token holding but sold that on the day without waiting for a rebound, so I guess i must have spotted something discouraging in the statement but i don't remember what. If this plunge continues I suppose we may well be about to be told! In percentage terms this is a much bigger fall than the one at the start of 2003. The shares did eventually recover very well from that, but if I were still a holder now I would quit. Edit: Having just had a glance at those results again, they did contain several discouraging numbers. And the comments re the garden centres division did not sound at all good. It's only a few months since a new FD came in, so maybe he has found it necessary to look differently at the books? (Mind you, the results are for a period ending 3 months after he took charge, and issued a further 2 months on, so i would have expected any oddities to have been mentioned). My guess is that the poor trading referred to in the results was a softener for a harsher warning re trading since then, with perhaps some big write-offs, though I'm only guessing and have no evidence.. | m.t.glass

17/2/2005 15:44 | Strange one this. I sold half my holding a few weeks back & took a massive profit. Looks now as though that was a good move. Some news of the cause of this big drop would be usefull although there is steady selling in small amounts today. Perhaps for the end of the tax year approaching. | pallett

06/1/2005 08:17 | NWF Group PLC 06 January 2005 For immediate release: Thursday 6 January 2005 NWF GROUP PLC NEW CONTRACT FOR BOUGHEY DISTRIBUTION PLANNING CONSENT RECEIVED FOR WARDLE SITE NWF Group plc ('NWF'), the diversified sales and distribution business, announces that its wholly owned subsidiary, Boughey Distribution Ltd, has won a new contract with Patak's Food Ltd ('Patak's'). Boughey has been awarded a two-year contract with Patak's for storage and distribution of their products based at the Boughey warehouse at Deeside, Chester. As part of the agreement Boughey will brand a number of its trailers with Patak's livery. Following this contract and the previously announced agreement with HP Foods, the Warehouse at Deeside will be fully occupied by the end of January. NWF also announces that planning permission has been received for building further warehouses at the Group's main site at Wardle, Cheshire. If fully developed, the site at Wardle would increase its storage by some 80% from its current 45,000 pallets to 82,500 pallets. Additionally the Group has leased warehouses in Winsford (12,500 pallets) and at Deeside (19,000 pallets). In the first half of 2005, NWF will undertake studies to determine whether, when and how to make use of this option. Further announcements will be made as and when appropriate. Graham Scott, Chief Executive, NWF commented: 'Boughey has sophisticated stock control systems which ensure correct rotation of ambient products and full traceability from point of receipt to delivery. Goods are held on behalf of over one hundred customers, both UK manufacturers and importers, and the products are delivered nationally to the full range of supermarket, wholesale and speciality outlets. Boughey is increasingly being recognised as a distribution firm of choice as can be evidenced by the Patak's contract.' He added: 'We are pleased to have received planning permission, which will enable us, if we so choose, to develop our site at Wardle and significantly increase our warehousing capacity. We will be assessing the various factors associated with undertaking this development and will update shareholders in due course.' - ends - For further information please visit www.nwf.co.uk or contact: Graham Scott, Chief Executive John West/Claire Melly NWF Group plc Tavistock Communications Tel: 01829 260 260 Tel: 020 7920 3150 This information is provided by RNS The company news service from the London Stock Exchange | m.t.glass

19/11/2004 17:20 | They had 6.6% in August, so they've upped their interest by over a third within 3 months. I know nothing about them except they are referred to as an investment company. I don't know if that means a fund manager - in which case they might just want growth companies to invest in, or a more speculative venture outfit with something more aggressive in mind. | m.t.glass |
