31/1/2004 12:07 | I don't think the pension deficit is a 'problem', just one issue of many that companies have to face. With stock markets rising rapidly I'm actually of the though that the companies with pension deficits are likely to be very good investments if those deficits have held the share price back. Much of those may be wiped out in a strongly rising stock market leaving some undervalued looking companies out there. Any companies with pension deficit certainly have them factored into the price by now imo. CR | cockneyrebel
31/1/2004 11:45 | 8 ball I have a minimal holding in NWF and no direct holding in Wynnstay so my comments are unbiased! | mw8156
29/1/2004 00:03 | mw8156. I heard that a key member of staff was leaving NWF and going to the competition.(not wynnstay) Wynnstay shares up to 6.35 now. They have almost doubled in the last 2 years, but still well below the current net asset value of £8.28p per share. | 8 ball
28/1/2004 17:29 | Deficit in the pension fund but no such deficit at wynnstay? | mw8156
28/1/2004 11:18 | Nice up tick today - You could well be right on a surge after the results CR | a0002577
27/1/2004 20:29 | Any light on what this supposed pension problem is? | gateside
27/1/2004 20:21 | mw8156 - don't think NWF have a pension 'Problem' CR | cockneyrebel
27/1/2004 19:56 | CR - It will be one of my naps for February in Stock Challenge : what about you ? | a0002577
27/1/2004 19:36 | NWF management has a high reputation perhaps better than Wynnstay. On the other hand there is no pension problem at Wynnstay. | mw8156
26/1/2004 13:42 | ? Says 2nd Feb in the RNS. I'm expecting a decent breakout on these with the results - traded sideways since the end of Sep and due a big up imo. CR | cockneyrebel
24/1/2004 10:26 | Results just announced as 4th Feb. | verynervy
22/1/2004 21:53 | I think Wynnstay is well diversified, From property development to cut flowers. Also has an asset value higher than Market cap. | 8 ball
22/1/2004 21:20 | Might not be as cheap as Wynnstay but it is far bettter diversified with 4 different divisions all doing nicely. It also has 6 years of compound double digit growth and pays a 3.5%+ divi. Results Jan 30 I think. CR | cockneyrebel
20/1/2004 19:42 | Wynnstay is not on OFEX for much longer...... mw8156 Nice to see i am not alone on that view please check out the wynnstay thread on here. | 8 ball
20/1/2004 19:20 | CR possibly, but not as cheap as Wynnstay Farmers on the OFEX ? | mw8156
20/1/2004 10:09 | New high - been patiently waiting for that :-) More to come as the results approach at the end of the month imo. CR | cockneyrebel
19/1/2004 16:23 | Pushing a nice all time high today - should be a decent breakout with the results about 10 days away. CR | cockneyrebel
19/1/2004 14:43 | Hi CR - yes a very good long term hold : anyway I have to as this AIM stock is still sheltering Capital Gains : Keep up the good work - regards | a0002577
19/1/2004 10:09 | This has been sleeping but awoken this am with the results less than a fortnight away. Blooms of Bressingham announcement this am looks a positive for NWF too imo. Great yield, superb record of double digit growth all on a forward PE well below 10 imo. CR | cockneyrebel
15/11/2003 19:32 | Yes, fabulous week this week, cheers. Hope I can top it off with VCP and DTG results this week. CR | cockneyrebel
15/11/2003 17:28 | Hi CR - yup agreed if it is forecast dividend - as you know I am a long term holder of these - having bought originally to shelter capital gains. You had a good week with some of your shares - well done !! kind regards | a0002577
14/11/2003 10:56 | This is a lovely stocl AOOO2577. I said 4% divi as that's what I'm expecting this year. 6 years double digit profit growth, currently growing earnings at 26%, trading on a forward PE of around 9, perhaps less. The Tesco warehousing contract should be good for them too - lots of scope to increase the business. Usually put a trading statement out in early January. CR | cockneyrebel
03/11/2003 09:02 | CR - they do seem good at these bolt on acquisitions - always seem to add value with the purchase. Nice one this as it is adds substantial synergies. Not sure about the 4% though - bit less I thought - but never mind got a nice dividend cheque this morning | a0002577
03/11/2003 08:21 | Nice acquisition today, for cash, none of this share dilution stuff from NWF. Really well run business - can you really turn down 6 years continuous double digit profit growth on a PE around 9 or less? What if you get a 4% divi too? CR | cockneyrebel
20/10/2003 21:53 | Well, they've certainly done well. I actually sold my shares in Mears too soon, thinking they were overpriced and run for the management rather than the shareholders, but they carried on up regardless. Had a bit of a shock today: Nothing-Ventured, where I had my Pep and Isa, has been sold to Fastrade (Charles Stanley), and today for the first time I saw the full primitive horror of the Fastrade website which we are being offered in exchange. It really is impossible to underestimate the financial services industry. :-( | diogenesj |
