Initial thoughts on LLOY fall today was to top up but I'm holding back for the moment as they are already one of my biggest holdings.

NFIB small business survey still high but showing same weird trends. Great optimism but latest sales are only up on higher prices and lower volumes to give better earnings of late but still negative. How long can optimism be maintained and when will it lead to more sales, recruitment and investment? They are so optimistic that there are no plans to increase inventories.

Oil $50.7 from $59 at start of year. Copper has been falling for a month - although only $2.75 to $2.60+. Neither seem to agree with these more positive surveys of late. They suggest inflation will not be sustained so will interest rates fall back and what will the eocnomy do if so?

Brexit, Trump, Le Pen - who knows? I don't know what is going on. There is bad news all over if you look for it. They are starting to report bits of it in mainstream media as Brexit-related but most is still going uncovered and the recent credit deterioration is an acceleration of a trend reversal that bottomed as early as 2014 in some markets/sectors. Credit markets are already suffering significant stresses yet interest rates are moving up again so expect worse. Retailers have been feeling the pinch for some time and it seems to be spreading and intensifying yet invetment/stock markets just ignore it. I've seen stockmarkets ignore bad news before (and ultimately fall) but probably not to this extent. How do surveys keep coming out so good when corporate outlooks/guidance are sounding worse and worse? It must be different this time.

Maybe it's me and I've just got it wrong . That's why I post lots of stuff. I like people to disagree with me. We all get it wrong sometimes. Best not to be wrong for long. It can get expensive!

Aleman, so do you think this is all being kept quiet so it can get blamed on Brexit?

It's a small sector but US marketplace lenders show 3rd quarter of recession as charge-offs rocket to 17% from 3% 3 years ago.

Also small but US commercial mortgage backed securities' delinquncies rose in Feb.

Good morning.

I was disappointed with Bango's results this morning. There was no anticipated update on revenue run rate since January's trading update. Presumably, the last two months were not good enough that they wanted to tell people. I noted the regional breakdown at the end of the notes that only showed 2 of 5 regions growing, one of which was boosted by aquisition. I decided to take my small profit and monitor from here. If they are doing as well as they indicate, then it should become apperent this year. It was not apparent from these figures.

Now, they'll probably go and give analysts information that was not given in the results ...

Excellent results from AMS, so of course the share price falls! Shame I only have a quarter of my original holding left from 10.95p but they have served me very well over the years!

I logged in to buy a few euros yesterday but just realised I must have got distracted and didn't go ahead with the transaction which is a nuisance as I will need a few for the end of the month.

Morning All.

Despite the beautiful sunshine yesterday we only saw a high of 13.5°C followed by a low last night of 6.4°C but the solar hit a high for the year of 12.54kwh of which 2.27kw went into the immersion heater. FIT reading at the end of this month, another little bit to come off the mortgage!

Not good news from Vodaphone regarding job losses, a bit of a blow to Newbury.

I've used old stocks, sleepers etc in the past - but had some ageing decking - so I thought I'd use them for them for the sake of expedience - apparently my skills with a panel saw (the skill saw was elsewhere) have diminished over the years!

Anyway - job done - obtuse angles and all.

We just used 8 sleepers (2 on top of each other) to create an 8ft x 8ft raised bed and it's amazing how much veg you can grow in that small space! We have troughs sitting on top of the sleepers with strawberries in, and the raspberries are nearby growing in open soil. Had some of last year's raspberries in our pancakes recently!

I do like raised beds though. Feel much more in control and easier to keep weeds at bay.
