"The coronavirus is clearly now not just a China problem and global growth estimates in 2020 are being revised down. After a very tough 2019, where global trade volumes contracted for the first time since the financial crisis, it appears another year of weakness is in store as the virus wreaks havoc on global supply chains," Liberum's Ben Davies said.

England only has 15 available beds for adults to treat the most severe respiratory failure and will struggle to cope if there are more than 28 patients who need them if the number of coronavirus cases rises, according to the government and NHS documents.

Ministers have revealed in parliamentary answers that there are 15 available beds for adult extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) treatment at five centres across England.
The government said this could be increased in an emergency.
There were 30 such beds in total available during the 2018-19 winter flu season.
But an NHS England document prepared in November 2017 reveals the system will struggle to cope if more than 28 patients need the treatment, describing that situation as black/critical.
It suggests that if no beds are available “within the designated and surge capacity” in the UK, they might have to be sourced from other countries, for example, from the Karolinska Institute in Sweden.

Hey..perhaps the EU has some that GB can ask to borrow..still on speaking terms aint they?
I have a fold up camping bed if that's any help, you just have to be careful that it doesn't snap shut like a venus flytrap and swallow you up!

The main point with stop-losses is to set a wide one and then use trade size to manage risk rather than choose an arbitrary trade size and set a narrow stop loss to minimise losses. This is probably the main principle that separates professionals from novices.

High value - BRWM is a pretty good bet, or will be at some stage. They've got some 25% in gold, atm, and a brill yield. Having said that, they won't spike as much as Rio - when the time comes.

Good point Min2!
But aiming at buying back in soon to hold for at least 2 to 5 years as the miners that i'm looking at are in a great postion of production increases...even now the miners has lost more than 25% from my stop loss point.

The most important thing about the precious metals is that you have it in your hands...ie physical gold and silver...never deal on paper!
Using the miners as a leverage on the above.

"Already got stopped out on the miners yesterday !"

As I said earlier this week: Show me a portfolio that has stops at 10% below current SPs and I'll show you a portfolio destined to lose 10%.

Absolutely zero of my portfolio stopped out (because there are no stops), still in the game, still getting the dividends and not paying my stockbroker and the MMs for doing FA.

Having difficulty setting up a shares isa with Halifax, been trying 2 days.
Going to have to go into branch and do it. Reckon if I had done it I may have bought when it went to 48p. Anyone else had that trouble setting one up?
