If this was a western movie, would you be saying "Too damn quiet"? Hopefully not.
Low volume trading today and static price, so it seems everyone is waiting.
I would have expected something today..fingers crossed for tomorrow a.m. IMO :-)

Thank-you Ex-broker..guessed but didn't know. Thank-you for clarifying.
SP drop to circa 216 earlier made me think some people were relenting on their hold, but hoover operation was easing..but finishing the day back at 218.
Gotta say I am surprised at how the share price has stuck in tight price bands through the bid process so far, I would have expected more volatility with a market driven by short term gains.

Hi DR_SMITH
As adviser to the bidder Bank of America have to disclose all dealings in the shares of the target company regardless of who it is for, they have an agency desk and a program desk that would be included, so would any CFD swaps they entered into for a hedge fund.

The wcs is that the price drops back to pre Offer price should not enough acceptances be garnered. The risk/reward for those holding on for another 20p from here, are playing a chancy game imo.

I am working on worst case price drops back to 205 and possible share price 220 to who knows, so will sit it out ftb. All IMO :-)

not really a knock out blow at c.17% shares owned or irrevocable is it IMO? And not recommended by board....now hope that next offeror can make their mind up smartish! Or someone else enter the fray.....gla

OT - QS99
I used to work in London decades ago and enjoyed the "Evening Standard" for having tomorrows news.
I thought it was no longer sold there..nice to know it is still going.

Interesting to read evening standard tonight... Fund manager has trimmed stake but new fair value now by broker stated at £2.75!! DYOR and read for yourself as public knowledge but gives an idea as to what someone now may have to pay to take LVD out... IMO and DYOR lets see what transpires!

Price below 03-2014 high of 246p. Over 50% sales are outside UK, so weak sterling should be a boost here. And long term prospects are good too. We have a base case of 205p from TVH, so I'll wait for Loxam to show their hand or maybe even a third bidder. All imo.

I wonder if principal holders had wind of 2nd offer, so was a key reason to decline the first.
First offer phrasing implied price above 205 could be entertained if another bidder materialised, which it has. For big money and big offers needs much behind the scenes meetings for potential buyers with respective finance backers and interested parties, so reckon on 5-7 working days for each stage to unfold. Like QS99, I expect to hear more this week..though they may take advantage of weekend to finalise and release a note first thing Monday to avoid speculative/insider trading.
All IMO :-)

Decided to sell and leave some for the next man. Good luck all, it's been extremely rewarding.

That's 3 bids for me in the last couple of weeks or so with LVD, CRE and CHT. Hopefully more to come!

I sold half at the high 190s but holding for 250p which always seemed a fair price for the company. If bids fail it will no doubt drop back well below £2. Still a hold in the long term if it does this though.

indeed, not an unreasonable assumption, although brokers had around £2.36 didn't they for fair value DYOR but that doesn't take into account a bidding war....

reckon we should hear news this week IMO, why wait further....price indicating that TVH isn't the winning bid and that someone else will come in IMO....any views on where the end price will be? TVH may have picked up shares lower down to help their average in price....DYOR etc...

All a bit confusing, someone should write an app to distill RNS notes. I see Lozano has joined the disclosures now, trading 39k shares. Could it be they are picking up what they can before announcing a larger offer price? Or even could they have got acceptance From M&G and have started buying what they can?

Look at the 8.3 and see if they have traded, some of these will be opening positions and others trades. The arbs are all over this and that is where they buying is coming from, they all have direct access to the order board as well as using the specialist arb brokers.

Given the flatness of the price and wide variance of possible outcomes I reckon we are seeing one big principal buyer doing a hoover job with a fixed price ceiling - but possibly through a number of intermediaries. IMO
Forms 8.3 give me glazed eyes. ;-)

Does anyone think these Form 8.3's are institutions building bigger stakes or have they been longtime holders?
