18/1/2017 09:29 | It's only M & G who have committed to their terms, so others are free to accept a higher bid even if less than 11p higher. Since LVH have already claimed they have got 20% of the stock, it's still all to play for IMO. | countryboy
18/1/2017 09:23 | mrtutz, my thoughts exactly. Genie and JLG must be abreast of the situation. | superstardj
18/1/2017 08:25 | I can't see TVH coming up another 11 pence but you never know.... | mrtutz
18/1/2017 08:18 | Irrevocable unless a further bid comes in 4% above the Loxam offer. | sell it high
18/1/2017 07:07 | 270p offer from Loxam. M&G irrevocable acceptance. | aishah
17/1/2017 21:23 | I'm not discounting another bidder too. Dyor | aishah
17/1/2017 18:45 | Hi I work for Lavendon and hold a few thousand shares in part of the employee share option scheme. I think that there's going to be a move by someone tail end of the week. I wouldn't rule out another bid from a 3rd party company, maybe one of the large US rental businesses. It would be a good move as it would give them access to the profitable UK and ME businesses. I'm playing the waiting game for now. | mrtutz
17/1/2017 10:42 | Cheers SIH. Wot no news? They have now had time for background talks, look at figures etc, form 8.* seem to have largely diminished and share price steady, apart from minor wobble today. What's the delay, waiting for article 50?, judgement day? Hit snooze zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz | dr_smith
13/1/2017 10:15 | Rather odd that the elephant in the room doesn't even get a mention?! | jeffian
13/1/2017 09:09 | Trading ahead of expectations. Loxam to respond shortly then. | aishah
12/1/2017 15:13 | Happy bday DR S. My advice is to get hammered :-) | sell it high
12/1/2017 10:13 | Sell it high: Insightful, great guess, would explain delay. BB's were invented for precisely your sort of comments. I am bit euphoric at mo' it's me birfdee ..not drunk.. only on life ;-) Thanks again..zzzzzzzzzzzzz until Monday or perhaps Tuesday then. | dr_smith
12/1/2017 09:05 | On January 14th last year LVD released their full year results. I'm not sure what the Takeover Panels rules are for releasing results in an offer period but I guess it would make sense for Loxam to wait for results before submitting a new bid. | sell it high
12/1/2017 07:10 | Are we expecting a revised Loxam bid here? they had better get a move on, or bored holders will sell out to TVH. | gargoyle2
06/1/2017 11:17 | All a bit quiet. My guess is a key figure is on holiday..back Monday, so News/next bid late Monday /Tuesday. If I'm wrong it's cos the tea leaves are still in the bag! ;-) | dr_smith
03/1/2017 16:00 | This appears to be the share that keeps on giving. I rather foolishly cash out under £2.20. Patience is nearly always worth demonstrating in situations like this. Well done to those that had some!!! | the big fella
03/1/2017 14:29 | The thing is 275p releases institutional holders from their irrevocable undertakings as it would be over 5% higher than the TVH bid. 270p doesn't quite cut it. | sell it high
03/1/2017 13:26 | 275 seems to be half expected end price..but think they will follow form with 10p at 270. IMO :-) Happy New Year to all. :-) | dr_smith
03/1/2017 13:16 | Loxam considering options. 275p? | aishah
03/1/2017 12:50 | TVH increases offer to 261p. | aishah
30/12/2016 19:24 | Oh well, maybe next year then! | snowydays
30/12/2016 10:17 | Maybe I am being unfair/unreasonable. My thinking is that TVH should have done all their sums before first bid, and bidding war anticipated as possibility from outset, so whether higher bid price is justified or not should be apparent from figures at outset. It is the same company they are bidding on, nothing has changed. OK I will calm down and wait patiently...POETS day today, trading ending 12.30 I believe..so maybe not long to wait now if your hunch is right snowydays. :-) | dr_smith
30/12/2016 09:24 | TVH waited until the markets had closed for the Christmas break before announcing their last increased bid. Perhaps they'll announce something after close of trading today. | snowydays
29/12/2016 18:20 | TVH made its first increased bid one day after Loxam announced a bid, and the second increased bid seven days after Loxam's increased offer. I don't think I would consider that slow. It was an interesting announcement this morning showing that Loxam had only negligible acceptances. TVH seems to be in the stronger position if it cares to increase it's bid. | snowydays
29/12/2016 17:30 | My finger in the air opinions..TVH instigated bids yet come across as slow, penny pinching, indecisive and not the sort of people to be involved in M&A where clear confident strategies are required to realise the benefits post-merger and to maintain the confidence and motivation of employees. | dr_smith |
