Went into superdrug Oxford Street, entered excited to see a run on ST which was mixed in on either side with Cheaper rivals, SK all full stocked, was expecting to see empty shelves, staff said it's not moving that quick and many shoppers go for cheaper rivals, so not a great report, just one store but a big one West End branch, I left somewhat disappointed. Not convinced about up take in sales, it is pretty expensive, unless being discounted.

More due diligence needed, is it being stocked in Harrords, Selfridges, John Lewis etc, the price entry level seems expensive for Superdrug?

I don't know why people don't just subscribe to SCSW. It doesn't cost much - and the tips more often than not make money. They are also covering SSP Group, WANdisco, Scientific Digital Imaging, Smart Metering Systems, On the Beach, Dunelm, Treatt, 32Red and Derriston this month.

Good points KemBy the way the previous highest monthly sales of ST was £790,000 in May 16.So Jan 17 probably took £800k in a traditional slack month for sales. I'm hoping they maintain £800k for the next 5 months which would give £4.8m for the half materially ahead of expectations.

Good points kemche

We also know
Outlook

The Company has delivered a strong start to the second half of the year, with January 2017 achieving the highest monthly revenue ever recorded.

If they say they are trading ahead, then the share price will hit 400p i believe

I feel one could invest £15,000 here and have £40,000 by Christmas if it does what is expected imho, dyor

As I have said before, the projected T/O figures, and therefore net profits for the year look too light.

They are "expecting" to T/O £6.9m for the year. They had a turnover of £3.2m in the first half - a period in which the US product was launched only in November (and so contributed barely a month and a half to two months). We must also factor in the fact that supply was constrained by the move to manufacture the product in the UK. We also know that the first half of the year is the lighter of the two halves as we were told "This, together with the seasonality of the business being second-half weighted, means the Board is confident of delivering a robust second half of the year."

Robust second half you say? How robust exactly? Well if January is anything to go by then the answer can only be "bloody"! As they say "with January 2017 delivering the highest monthly revenue ever recorded." If that is any indication as to how the second half is unfolding then I think it fair to assume that they would be doing rather more than £3.7m to meet their expectations of £6.9m for the whole year.

Let us also take into account the excellent research provided by Croas on the BB and take a conservative view that they are indeed doing £20k per day across the various websites, then that implies that they could conceivably turnover £3.7m in six months JUST FROM the websites alone! Even if that figure looks toppy to some it at least gives a flavour of how successful their online strategy seems to be.

Add in sales from the physical stores and the projections begin to look a tad silly really.

All the above obviously from an untrained eye and I may well be barking up the wrong tree here. As always AIMHO and DYOR.

Also about £1000 of Charles+Lee stock has sold from their website since Monday - two gift sets sold out from low stock numbers. They only 4-5 individual products for sale now but the stock is over £100k in value. I wonder if IDP bought the stock on top of the $50k Aus ????

Few weeks ago I went into Superdrug in Keighley, bit of a hole that town, but forget that, nice architecture nonetheless, and Bronte country, staff complimented ST., they apply themselves, and remarked that it was the best seller, I know it is held in high regard, be nice if IDP. could get the supply issues correct, this is a good product, I can see the strong appeal! Met a guy a few years ago who owns Arena UK, equestrian centre outside Grantham on edge of A1, he made a fortune, millions, a few years back with fake tan, and bought the the premises!
