24/2/2017 10:11 | I would have expected some announcements by phone makers about the X30 before now. but so far very little. "Expect "steep ramp up" of devices using powervr for android , with high volumes of both mediatek x30 and 8xe" That sounds promising if it is phones then great, if it is white box stuff then still good but we really need to take back some share of the andriod phone market for img GPus to relevent Unfortunately img statements are IMO to be taken with a very large pinch of salt, better to wait on the customer releasing news and so far customer licenses and soc news is still very limited. | nearlythere

Expect "steep ramp up" of devices using powervr for android , with high volumes of both mediatek x30 and 8xe 4.Mediatek not the only partner using 7xt....later in year further announcements re use of existing 7xt 4 cluster( as well as yet to be announced 7xt 2 cluster) by other customers | gez
23/2/2017 16:14 | I guess IMG had the 'option' to make a big investment or lose the slot, I think they made the best choice. Bluwireless looks very promising BUT meaningful revenues are years away -probably 3 at least, our management decided it wasn't worth the risk and I back them - the days of supporting potential pie in the sky investments are over- stick to the CORE , after all that's where HY slipped up big-time The next week or so is pivotal to IMG IMHO , What with GDC and MWC as well as the summit that they are bigging up massively. We really need positive newsflow. Unfortunately it looks like Mediatek are not getting big orders for the Helio X30, we shall soon find out officially, also Xiami are releasing 2 new in-house SOC's next week, one is Mali enabled by the looks of it, I have no great optimism the 2nd will be ours. Let's wait and see what happens up to the 8th March, I get the feeling that given some newsflow this could take off ? Later S | sweenoid
23/2/2017 14:01 | Just spotted this announcement from Blu Wireless a MIPS customer. Arm will be the lead investor in a new £10 million funding round. As a result it looks like they are aligning their mmWave System IP roadmap with the ARM processor and system IP portfolio. This was their earlier announcement regarding HYDRA based on MIPS. | rbalakrishnan

13/2/2017 22:03 | iPad Pro's A9X chip die shot reveals 12-cluster GPU, lack of L3 cache and more the die shot of the chip does confirm that the A9X packs in a 12-core GPU from Imagination Technologies based on its Series 7XT GPU. This is likely a custom solution that Imagination Technologies built for Apple, like it has done in the past for the company’s ‘X’ series chipsets.¨ | taffy100
