03/4/2017 13:35 | apple only 50% of business. up to 2 years still with present agreements. this company must be a target for potential apple competitors. Chinese for example. apple still own 8% of IMG. this story 'aint over yet. with snap chat supposed to be worth £25bn, what comedian said IMG was overvalued at £273m. ....and that is in cut price £ stirling remember. bought in here today, worth a punt. | careful
03/4/2017 13:27 | Reading 50-60 pence in coming days. I have unfortunately moved on today after 5 years. | ebomber
03/4/2017 13:19 | Having just read the last half year report, this one seems to be way overvalued. Surely a market cap of around £30m is more realistic. | mallorca 9
03/4/2017 13:16 | Good time for Samsung which is Apples arch apponent in phones to buy Imagination Or, Softbank which bought ARM could buy it Peanuts market cap. | rubberbullets
03/4/2017 13:16 | All the best sweenoid. We had some differences of opinion over the years, but your enthusiasm after the Dreamcast demise kept my spirits up when I could easily have sold and was much appreciated. The Welsh contingent of hammered, you and Rob Evans were invaluable on this board over the years, along with many others. Enjoy the money, although I am guessing you won't put it into Frontier! | life of crime
03/4/2017 13:07 | Well said Sweenoid. It takes a big man to walk away and 'Never breathe a word about your loss'. Can I also say thanks for all the great posts, information and entertainment you provided over many years. | pcok
03/4/2017 13:06 | What's the market cap £300m still. I can see 5p coming. Just like a couples of other high profile companies that went wrong. | montyhedge
03/4/2017 13:02 | Something similar happened with MONI with Visa, it ended badly for us. | declan2
03/4/2017 13:02 | just a quick note to say Goodbye to everyone here , I have had a roller-coaster ride with IMG, lows and highs, I have met so many great people via this board and personally at AGM's I shall never forget some of the post AGM 'events' which were frankly legendary, great times shared with super people. Mea Culpa- I never saw this coming , that was obviously naive in the extreme. To be frank I have been exhausted with this stock for some time, this mornings news was IT for me, after reading the RNS I took a long walk and settled myself to sever ties completely here. I have sold ALL my and my wife's stock in many tranches. I have too great a life these days (in large part due to gains here in the past) to vex over IMG, I will never look at the share price again and all IMG bookmarks have been removed, I will certainly never post on this company again. Funnily enough I am not stressed or bitter ....no point going down that avenue. Best wishes and good luck to ALL true Imagineers past and present and all my best wishes to all past and current employees of IMG Dave Dave | sweenoid
03/4/2017 12:51 | They really are wicked evil people at Apple playing with people's lives like this. Hope they die a painful death in the future | r1singson
03/4/2017 12:36 | I have just read the news and wanted to extend my sincere sympathies to all current holders (and to UK plc). Really sad to hear Apple's decision...so much for long term partners/trust etc. I no longer hold after being unable to resist a selling opportunity a few years ago but had been in since VDO days. Along with VTY (NTX) IMG was my most enjoyable punt. I hope it does not share the fate of NTX. It would be great if IMG could do a Lazarus for the sake of current holders and also, after the ARM sale, we haven't got much world beating tec left. | pcok
03/4/2017 12:33 | no dave it's 100p. we will inform you when it is lower than 70p if you having difficulties | declan2
03/4/2017 12:25 | could be lower than 70p here surely? | investment dave
03/4/2017 12:20 | The directors have seriously misled the shareholders my target is 70p. | blueball
03/4/2017 12:15 | Orkney We keep saying that but each year it gets worst. Hard to see how img are a going concern after apples income dry up. It is going to be an uphill struggle to sell licenses when IMO a major customer just announced that it sees img latest and best GPu as nothing more than a stop gap until it makes something better in house. I assume apple have also access to img future road map. IMO without apples profits that bank loan is looking pretty big, they may need to sell something ( the buildings) or do a placing, the cost cutting and down sizing may only just have started. Interesting times. | nearlythere

03/4/2017 10:56 | Late last year BTW. --- Imagining Apple’s Next Steps After years of recruiting graphics architects, Apple has designed its own custom GPU, which is already shipping in the A8, A9, and A10 processors that power the iPhone 6, 6S, and 7. The GPU in Apple’s processors still retains some fixed-function hardware from PowerVR, but based on publicly available evidence it is clear that the shader core in Apple’s GPU is architecturally very different from Imagination Technologies PowerVR line. This further implies that Apple wrote its own Metal and OpenGL ES compiler for its GPUs and almost certainly wrote the entire driver as well. Given Apple’s history, it is not surprising that they chose to design a custom GPU. The tangible performance benefits are readily apparent. Other benefits such as tighter ecosystem control, better time-to-market, and reducing bugs are difficult to observe, but equally important for Apple. Going forward, Apple has three options. The status quo is licensing some or all of the fixed-function hardware from Imagination Technologies to complement internally designed components such as the shader core. In this scenario, Apple might eventually upgrade to a newer version of PowerVR, but presumably while negotiating a better deal for licensing and royalties. A second option is simply buying Imagination Technologies, although that would come with considerable extra baggage (e.g., the MIPS processor line) and Apple already passed on this opportunity earlier in 2016. On the other hand, Apple could continue to customize more and more of their GPU – eventually designing out Imagination Technologies. Ultimately Apple will have to decide whether they can do a better job on their own, but so far the company seems to be excellent at developing world-class expertise in new areas. | smurfy2001
03/4/2017 10:46 | I'm not surprised Apple are going in this direction they are employing ex-Imagination staff. Would have been chump change to just buy the company though... | smurfy2001
