18/11/2002 16:41 | As a spurs supporter all I will say is that thanks to Cole and the referee thousands of fans were cheated out of a london derby. I am not saying spurs would have won or even collected a point but it's difficult enough with 11 men to beat them at highbury let alone 10 !!!. Yes the card may well be rescinded but that wont alter the league table. We can no longer rely on human judgement, the game is played at such a pace.....video replays please !! | borodin
08/11/2002 16:07 | Dennis Bergkamp has been charged with "violent conduct" by the old gits at the FA over an incident involving Blackburn's Nils-Eric Johansson. Our 33-year-old non flying Dutchman clashed with Johansson late in the second half of our game at Ewood Park after he lost possession and appeared to stamp on his opponent's hip. But, how can this be I ask you gooners? Referee Graham Barber saw it fit to take NO action at the time and even suggested that the incident was just a rash tangle at the time. Now, my AFC faithful - it seems Bergkamp could face a massive three-match ban for the offence and has 14 days to respond. Heaven forbid if Dennis says the FA "have no personality". Bergkamp claimed the alleged clash only come to light - because of over-examination by television replays. Thank you Sky TV. Dennis says: "I don't understand it - on the pitch there was nothing really wrong. The referee seemed to see everything. I picked the player up and there was nothing really wrong. The referee was very close to it and he came up to me and said 'calm down' and I calmed down." Bergy adds: "Then I heard the next day that it was on the TV and I thought `Okay, who is making those decisions? Who is putting it on the television? Then you read about stamping. It is such a serious word - but there was nothing in it. They are trying to make something out of nothing." Dennis has seen red mist before and missed three games last season when he was sent off for a similar offence involving Liverpool's Jamie Carragher in an FA Cup tie at Highbury. | pizzaman

29/10/2002 18:17 | Cantona was without doubt the best all-round player in England in the 1990's. Won a couple of championships on his own. Excellent accuracy with the free kick on that Crystal Palace THUG too. | vs |
