02/12/2020 14:47 | Kurdistan to send delegation to the federal government Kurdistan masrour barzani 2020-12-02 13:50 A- A A+ Shafaq News / the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) plans to send a delegation to Baghdad on Wednesday to firm up the financial rights of the region The Kurdish Prime Minister, Masrour Barzani, said during the weekly cabinet meeting, "the Government had tried anything and would do anything to secure the salaries of citizens," adding that “the region's financial dues are legitimate rights of the people of Kurdistan, and we will continue to negotiate with the federal government to guarantee our rights.” Barzani confirmed, "We are in constant contact with the Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi and the Council of Ministers, and they pledged to solve the issue of the salaries of Kurdish in the coming days." The cabinet also decided to send a government delegation to Baghdad as soon as possible to "defending the constitutional rights of the Kurdistan Region," according to a statement issued by the regional government. The region’s oil exports have long been a source of contention with Baghdad. The Kurds, who control Iraq’s only northern pipeline, had been exporting oil independently since 2013. Exports from Kirkuk were restarted in 2018, after a year-long freeze amid post-referendum disputes. Exports from smaller oilfields under the regional government’s control continued. The governments of Iraq and Kurdistan have reached an agreement on Erbil’s contribution to the 2020 federal budget. The deal includes a transfer of 250,000 barrels per day (bpd) from the oil-producing region to Iraq’s national budget in exchange of securing the financial dues of the region. However, Kurdistan said that the federal government did not keep their promise of sending the all financial duties to the region. | beernut

02/12/2020 09:30 | An "imminent agreement" between Baghdad and Erbil prepares for the 2021 budget Wednesday 02nd December 2020 67 An "imminent agreement" between Baghdad and Erbil prepares for the 2021 budget Baghdad: Muhannad Abdul-Wahhab Negotiations continue between Baghdad and Erbil in preparation for framing a new agreement, paving the way for the next year’s budget, by putting into place paragraphs that regulate the relationship between the center and the region regarding oil and other financial revenues in Kurdistan. "The negotiations are continuing between the political forces in the center and the region to reach a new agreement that will be a basic prelude to the provisions of the 2021 budget that regulate the relationship between Baghdad and Erbil," the deputy from the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Diyar Barwari, told Al-Sabah. He added that «the agreement between the governments of the regional center, will oblige Erbil to pay the sums of sold oil, as well as the revenues of the ports to Baghdad, which is one of the principles and paragraphs of the 2020 budget. Berwari pointed out that «delaying the budget by the government will delay its approval in Parliament before the beginning of next year in light of the presence of many problems with the federal government in the ministries of finance and planning, which seek to complete the draft law», calling on the government to «adhere to dates and times». | k4n4k

01/12/2020 19:31 | Britain is optimistic: The problems between Erbil and Baghdad can be addressed 2020-12-01 08:43 Shafaq News / The British Minister for Middle East and North Africa Affairs, James Cleverley urged on Tuesday the Kurdistan Regional Government and the federal government to resolve the differences and pending issues between them, especially with regard to the salary file and the public financial budget. Claverley said in a press conference today in Erbil, attended by Shafaq News Agency, that: The British government is a long-standing friend of the Kurdish people and also an old friend of the Iraqi government and a great supporter of the regional government, and at the same time we support the Iraqi government, adding that it is painful to see that there are differences between Erbil and Baghdad, but it is possible. Addressing these problems, we talked to both parties, and we hope to reach positive results soon. He also added, "I am very happy that the relations between the region and Britain are very good. We are old friends of the Kurdish people. We have ample information about the Kurdish people. Yes, they were able to eliminate ISIS, and this prompts us to work closely with the regional government and also towards developing relations in the economic, commercial and even tourism fields as well." With the territory. " "I do not know how many British companies are operating in the region, but I think there are many areas in which British companies can work in the region," the minister added. | k4n4k
