29/1/2002 15:56 | Kept a longterm short running (March) but reduced part of today's trade. And to confuse things I have an intermediate weekly position still short for the moment. | m.t.glass
29/1/2002 13:14 | Short from today at 530 | lodger
29/1/2002 10:54 | >M.T.Glass - you're everywhere today ( AIH,EMG ), still holding my original position | alexx
29/1/2002 10:53 | ..since when it's drifted another 58p lower. Shorted 8 Jan again, then it fell asleep, but edging down yet again now perhaps. Three MMs trimmed their price on the very first visible sell of the day. | m.t.glass
29/1/2002 10:49 | Shorted again 8 Jan, since when it went to sleep. Now edging down? | m.t.glass
03/12/2001 15:51 | Finer analytical skills? I wish! Each time another darling of the market (like Enron) bites the dust, and another bunch of richly paid experts have failed to see it coming, I am reminded that my feeble attempts to interpret balance sheets are all a bit pointless. I tend to avoid relying on them. I stay away from most stocks around results time (except I did hold a downbet which I closed today on this one) and will just wait for the dust to settle before making any further judgement on this stock. I guess a lot of punters will see today's results as good and will wonder why the price was marked down. I'll just stand aside and watch awhile.. | m.t.glass
01/12/2001 00:37 | M T Glass spotted this myself. Most companies have had a half decent run up to results GSD has in fact ticked down thru £6. Will be up birght & early on results day. PLease could you post your findings asap as you seem to have finer analytical skills then myself as I always get the balance sheet wrong | matthewa
01/12/2001 00:35 | Very quiet today considering half-year results are due out on Monday.. I would expect a few holders to play safe and sell today in case further details of costs involved in recent acquisitions emerge alongside the results. There has been no significant buying in the run-up. Blanking out the month that covers Sept 11 and the recovery from that, the overall trend has been downwards since April 2000. Maybe I'm wrong and there will be some surprise good news that hasn't leaked into the price this month, but I still hold negative views on this one. | m.t.glass

09/11/2001 10:36 | I doubt this the deal is going to be revenue enhancing in the short term. Antigen were a family owned generic pharmaceuticals manufacturer who ran into regulatory problems in the last two years that shut the steriles manufacturing suite down. I've no doubt they've resolved this issue now, but it's a long haul back recovering business. Their injectables business also tended to be high volume, low margin stuff. No doubt Goldshield have their reasons for buying, but I'm sure they'll have a pack of problems to resolve. | njp

08/11/2001 14:28 | Should stick to their knitting? Today's acquisition (of a company in administration with complicated debt clearance involved) (and which is costing them the equivalent of last year's profit) suggests they are straying into territory they haven't handled before(?). Presumably what they've bought looks a bargain to somebody there.. | m.t.glass
08/11/2001 14:17 | Not sure what to make of today's acquisition. Not in an area they've handled before. Bought a company that's currently in administration (I think). Costing them the equivalent of last year's profits. Having gone short just before the announcement I am obviously biased.. so I'll leave detailed comment to others. | m.t.glass
12/10/2001 10:26 | Phew! Escaped downbet with a tiny £45 loss yesterday, thinking I hadn't done well this time round. Up 33.5p this morning. 'kinell! | m.t.glass
