08/5/2008 12:35 | £2 mill profit ..... £7 mill market cap .... PE .... 3.5 .... agree .... tomorrow will be interesting .... | imabastard
08/5/2008 12:32 | So they have approx 7p cash and will make 4p EPS minimum. Might get 15p on a pullback later I suppose. I am not bothered about the spread. Very few buyers today and when the herd turns up tomorrow, that will make it move. GOOD MORNING Friday herd. Yes these are on a PE of 5 with lots of cash too. | barnetpeter
08/5/2008 12:32 | .... a P/E of 10 would give an share price of 48p .... so plenty of space between 16p and 48p .... | imabastard
08/5/2008 12:28 | Any short term target price here? In 2006 the share price rose 30p over a few days on good news. | amla
08/5/2008 12:26 | The spread is 2p now but showing 3p with advfn | 39rich
08/5/2008 12:25 | 8Trader .... I think there is plenty of scope for the share price to keep rising though .... with an RNS stating MINIMUM £ 2 million profit, with a forward P/E of 10, this would put the market cap at £ 20 million which is three times the current value .... | imabastard
08/5/2008 12:06 | Good call HP. Shame the spread is 3p all the time, even if you can get inside it a fraction you will need a 5p rise to break even, not for those in below 12p though, they are sitting pretty. | 8trader
08/5/2008 12:04 | Just had a lil punt @17p just love the way the share price is slowly rising n the spread to put off investors which in my opinion is a huge plus | 39rich
08/5/2008 08:45 | Well done hugepants & I hope you have filled em. (with shares in GKR). | chesty1
08/5/2008 08:10 | Outlook With the addition of projected net profitability from our recent acquisitions and anticipated growth of our existing product offerings, our profit before tax for 2008 is expected to be at least U$4.0 million with an EPS of $0.07. Wow nice surprise. That explains why they were happy to buy back 10% of the shares at 12p recently. An expected pre-tax profit of £2M for a company with market cap of £4M!!? | hugepants
08/5/2008 07:47 | Now that wasn't so hard was it GKR management. I don't see why these explanations couldn't have been included with the profit warning. Gross profit remaining strong and fall in profit is not due to unprofitable contracts, but the expansion of admin and sales costs for a turnover increase that didn't materialise. This is excellent news as I was worrying they might have unprofitable contracts and would need large stock writedowns etc. Cash flow was also very solid. Best of all though was the outlook statement (although they have lost a little creditibility re: forecasts!). "Outlook With the addition of projected net profitability from our recent acquisitions and anticipated growth of our existing product offerings, our profit before tax for 2008 is expected to be at least U$4.0 million with an EPS of $0.07." and H1 2008 looks set fair. "Additionally, a significant portion of our US order pipeline in the final months of the year was not converted into sales. We expect most of this business to convert in the first half of 2008." | scburbs
01/5/2008 15:07 | Hi HugePants I tried to buy a few today but was told that I could not currently buy any. The broker said he did not know what the problem was but it might possibly be something to do with the share being American. He said try again some other time. | ben value
28/4/2008 12:04 | It certainly isn't loved by the MMs. I sold £800-worth to EVO and they cut their bid immediately from 8p to 2p. | mctmct
04/4/2008 14:43 | he website looks ok to me.Take a look at the list of distribution partners worldwide. Have a glance at Market Watch which was last updated yesterday.Anyone wanting a good idea of supermarket activity should check this list each day.All the info you need about the world of supermarkets. For a comprehensive update on deals etc,Gatekeeper's website is a useful tool for investors. I must admit that this company does'nt care to issue rns...thereby leaving us pi's in the dark. However, the lack of interest in GKR makes my heart heavy. Why is it so unloved? | amla
01/3/2008 09:44 | Is this a real company? The website report and accont links for previous years don't work for me, as if no investor ever read the website accounts, and it looks like it hasn't been updated since 2006. Apparently they paid $2.5m for a business that has negligable assets and profits that doesn't even have the same line of business. So what's the link? Money to friends? I know that sounds harsh, but whatever the real link is I don't see it. The RNS for results says see the website, and on the website it doesn't appear to be there. How can they get away with that? | crystalclear
29/2/2008 21:40 | My guess is that FORUM European Smallcaps GmbH has taken a massive bath on this one. "The Company was informed that on 8 December 2006, FORUM European Smallcaps GmbH increased its shareholding in the Company to 4,565,833 ordinary shares, which represents 10.3% of the entire issued ordinary share capital of the Company." | scburbs
29/2/2008 21:39 | Buyback started to get some traction with a repurchase of 10% of the company. I wonder who the seller it is. "Gatekeeper Systems, Inc. announces that on 28 February 2008 the Company made on market purchases of 4,275,000 ordinary shares of USD 0.001 each ("Ordinary Shares") at a price of 12 pence per Ordinary Share and 123,500 Ordinary Shares at a price of 10 pence per Ordinary Share. All 4,398,500 Ordinary Shares will be held as Treasury Stock." | scburbs
01/2/2008 13:05 | ok, take your point the ball's in the Management's court to provide more info they could follow wng's example a long statement (after weeks of silence) sometimes clears the air. | andrbea
01/2/2008 13:02 | No explanation of the 10% sales or the 60% income shortfall has been provided. If there was some one-off restructuring charge, financial charge or bad debt then it would be prudent to reveal it since it would not really impact forward trading prospects. The lack of any explanation or transparency is a BIG credibility issue ! | masurenguy
01/2/2008 12:53 | true M-guy but profits are always after any number of variables (eg one-off interest charge, restructuring costs, provisions,...). They don't explain why.. to me the turnover is key (if that's only 9% down or flat, or prospects are good, .. | andrbea
01/2/2008 12:49 | It's a management credibility issue due to the profit warning coming just 10 weeks after their positive trading update in November. How can a situation change so quickly, with a projected 60% shortfall in anticipated profits over such a short timeframe. People seriously wonder whether management really have their finger on the pulse in that kind of situation ! | masurenguy
01/2/2008 12:30 | if look at the fall in total annual revenue and the fall in share price it's a bit harsh IMO (the fall on 18 Jan last, I mean) they predicted 31m and are talking (Jan 18) of at least 28m that's a 9% adjustment below forecast (but hey, the 28 is an 'at least'...) and then the share price fell 67%... like I say, a tad overdone... ;-) "Shopping trolley security firm Gatekeeper Systems lost more than half its value today as it warned of a sharp fall in both revenue and profits for 2007. It said total revenue for the full year ended 31 December 2007 is expected to be at least $28m, down from $29.6m in 2006, while net income of at least $1m is way short of last year's $2.4m. In November, the firm predicted total revenues would be in the range of $31m to $32m, with net income of between $2.2m and $2.5m. " | andrbea
