alma (amla ?)

It is a growth company which is not growing.

It is in a not very exciting industry.

PE of approx 11.

The trend is down.

Not much news flow.

This was a great story, though not much known, two years ago. It has missed the opportunity to drive ahead, grow dramatically and display true market leadership.

These are the con points - you can fill in the pro's yourself.

All imho, dyor etc, etc,......

Best of luck whatever your decision.

Today's trading statement means that if they come in at the top end of their estimations they will have done better than same time last year. This was not a profit warning in my opinion.
Yet the share price gets marked down by the mms!
I am hanging on to these and will buy more when the bottom is reached.Have lost half my original investment here because I refused to believe that this company was'nt going to be a market leader in the future and did'nt sell out at 55p.
GKR really needs more interest from pi's.If someone can give me a good reason for taking my losses and giving up on these, then please give me good reasons for bailing out.
Sincerely,Alma.

Hi scburbs,
thanks for your excellent post, which has finally made sense to me!
(your last three years are 07,06,05 not 05,06,07 which was my wrong assumption).

I'd agree that 10% plus growth for the full year is still possible and that the current share price assumes much less.

Does anyone have any recent broker forecasts or notes?

Have reduced a bit here as results a bit disappointing. Main positive from the results were very strong cashflow, increasing gross margin and strong expectations for H2.

Over the last 3 years H1 has represented 43%, 28.8% and 35.6% of turnover. The company are indicating that H1 last year was a blip and that H1/H2 will return to more normal levels, i.e. H2 will be strong. If H2 followed a similar pattern to previous years (say H1 33%) then full year turnover would be $34.5m vs $29.6m, i.e. still 16.5% growth. If the 51% gross margin is sustained this would drive 21% gross profit growth. All a bit theoretical and there may be a chance to pick these up on the cheap over the next few months.

"In the six months ended 30 June 2007, revenue was $11.4m (June 2006: $12.7m).
Historically, with the exception of 2006, our annual revenue generation has been weighted heavily towards the second half of the year. We believe our 2007
revenue generation will be in line with this historical trend. For the current
period, gross margins increased to 51% (2006: 48%). Net income was $34,000
(2006: $0.6m)."

Remember, margins are up and they have enlarged the Paris office in the expectation of more business.
I have been holding these for a while and am disappointed that they don't give us more rns's and tell us which supermarket chain is buying what etc. These contracts seem to be shrouded in secrecy.
Anyway,I'll give them the benefit of a doubt and hang on in here.I've been to 33p before!I think that this must be a long term investment.
They are not only exposed to USA dollars..they are looking to expand in the eurozone, too.
They have not been on a big spending spree and should'nt need to come to the market for more money this year.
The dramatic markdown today reflects the relative illiquidity of GKR plus its small market cap plus the fact that it is still off the radar for most investors. It is almost a "green investment"if it prevents littering with discarded trolleys!
As far as I can see,the company is in no serious trouble .
I am not ramping here I am an investor.DYOR
LOL

Disappointing; glad I waited. This market is very unforgiving - keep it on my list for the time being.

First pass, they don't look too good.

Sales down, admin up, not doing too well in collecting their money owed.

Results on monday. With the projected consumer "squeeze"predicted to affect supermarket earnings in the future I imagine that the major chains will consider buying systems from Gatekeeper to cut down on theft, trolley handling and trolley loss.
Take a look at the website and see what this company has to offer.
The share price is just above ipo levels and this company has little support from investors which is unwarranted IMO as we have niche products here which should be immune to a general market slowdown.
DYOR and good luck!

I've been waiting to top up,some of the recent fall has been an increase in the spread.Off to Aus for a few weeks so will have to check in from there on the results. Now do I top up before I go or is the emotion in the market going to present a better opportunity ?

One advantage of holding unloved, illiquid shares is that you are spared the volatility that we have seen the last two weeks on the stockmarkets.
I thought to sell my small holding in GKR today but resisted the urge to panic, had a look at the website and noticed that results are on 6 September.
I also noticed that I have been using the new range of trolleys without being aware of it!
Hoping for good results and more interest in this company, which is a good one to invest in in a risk averse market.

Looks like a good strategy to buy additional products (advertising handle) they can sell whilst fitting wheel locking system or alternative products (coin lock) that they can provide if shops don't what to pay for a presumably more expensive wheel locking system (albeit coin lock is nowhere near as good as trolley's worth much more than £1 or €1).

Also can use existing customer base to sell new products to and acquired customer base to sell existing products to.

annual report out - reiterating (good) 19mar finals, of course

mkt still hasn't really noticed - steady at 54p, but ought to go to test 60p, IMO
maybe the AGM on 21jun will do the trick

I have just twitched back into life on seeing today's gap up.Am going to buy some more in the hope that the share price will breach its previous all time high which was when I bought in...way back then in 2005...chart looks ok for a wee bounce..

There has been a buyer for a long time in GKR. When the market dipped GKR was rock solid and I was able to reduce positions very easily despite being way above NMS. I have kept a c.£900 per point position in shares and spread bets and look forward to positive news (and the buyer) to help push this forward.

I am assuming that the fact we have started to move upwards means that the stream of PI sellers after the results has ended and the price needs to move up to attract more sellers to fill the buy orders.
