Its the date when the Ovation one year BFI Funding extension expires, that's all. The ones who haven't coughed up a single Rand, despite a legal obligation to do so.

JT has only said recently that he "will make an announcement when legally allowed to do so" - so that could be at any time, I guess.

I gather everybody at the Company has been working pretty hard recently though, so there must b something in the Ether.

IMHO, DYOR.

I cant imagine what that news could possibly be that is going to meet people's expectations ? as you say Mining for ore in SA is pretty dead so i will be amazed if they have managed to off load Moonlight. i would have thought if you really had any good news you would announce your new wage packet after not before ?
Lets remember that it is only the one person on lse that has even mentioned 12th of Jan as far as i am aware ?

Does Not bode well for the 12th then if you don't see a future for SA mining.

Sounds like you need to sell out Black - you've obviously had enough.

I agree with all of your sentiment by the way, but I'm in this for another 5 year haul, if necessary, as I DO see value coming out of Toral/Lago, having visited the site and area.

I'm not so sure about Mooonlight, as I think South Africa is a total mess of a Country in which to do business these days, witness the recent statement by Arcelor Mittal that they see Iron & Steel production ceasing entirely in South Africa, if the Govt is not careful, - but I hope that JT CAN pull a rabbit out of the hat and add some functionality, whilst extracting value from that asset.

Ferrum Crescent Limited

("Ferrum Crescent", the "Company" or the "Group")(ASX, AIM, JSE: FCR)

Contract of employment for Executive Chairman and Appointment of Project Manager

Ferrum Crescent, the ASX, AIM and JSE quoted metals project developer, announces that the Company's Executive Chairman, Justin Tooth, has entered into a contract of employment, with the Company, to replace the interim arrangements agreed at the time of his appointment.

In accordance with ASX Listing Rule 3.16.4, the Company advises the following material terms of Mr Tooth's employment agreement:

1. Base salary of GBP125,000 per annum, excluding statutory contributions to National Insurance and Pension required under UK Law.

2. The contract has no fixed term and may be terminated by either party on three months' notice (or in the case of termination by the Company, payment in lieu of such notice).

3. Mr Tooth will be eligible to participate in employee incentive schemes operated by the Company from time to time on such terms as the Board may decide.

The Company also announces the appointment of Mr Merlin Marr-Johnson to the position of Project Manager with his principal responsibilities being the progression of the lead-zinc portfolio of projects held by the Company.

Mr Marr-Johnson has over 20 years' experience as a field geologist, mining analyst and resources fund manager. He is a Spanish speaker and has overseen exploration programmes in South America, Sub-Saharan Africa and Central Asia. Mr Marr-Johnson had previously been engaged as a technical consultant on the Toral and Lago projects.

I wish i had your confidence in Spain. I still see Moonlight as the flagship. Spain may have a future but it will be years down the line and a ton of cash will be needed. I for one do not want to tie my money up for another 5 years while we go through the same test drillings, failed JV's, placings, take off agreements and Spanish Bureaucracy all over again. It may be an investment worth revisiting in a few years time but if they cant fund Spain from Moonlight then the company is lined up in the medium term for years of debt and dilution IMHO.
I worry about JT's ability ? He needs institutional backing and funding and you will not get that with 3b in issue and a fractional panny share price He has dismissed a consolidation that might have made this a bit more attractive to serious money but of course a 100/1 consolidation would lead to just more dilution and a fast return to sub 1p i suspect.
These sort of plans are always great in principle but the reason everyone is not doing exactly what FCR are doing is funding and we still have yet to hear how Spain will be funded. Its not going to happen on piddly £500k placings unless we are looking at 10b + in issue in a couple of years :-)

Well, lets see wot joy (or otherwise) the 12th January brings to us long-suffering FCR shareholders, in respect of Moonlight.

We know that Ovation havn't contributed a single Rand of cash to Moonlight over the past 12 months, so it will be very interesting to see who, if anyone, is going to replace them and what the Asset Development process will be.

Personally, I'm not holding my breath, believing Spain to be the way forward, but stand to be corrected.

IMHO, DYOR, GLA.

Best wishes to all those still brave enuf to be in FCR in 2017 ! (year 7 for me).

This will b the year that either makes or breaks JT and /or Merlin.

I think that there is a lot of shrapnel flying around in the BB space, regarding FCR currently. Perhaps we should re-focus on where the main projectile is going ?!

IMHO, DYOR.

They may have inside info pat but not info that would stop them partaking in a placing. If they had that sort of info then they would have to delay the placing or declare the info on the placing document.

Not sure I agree blackI'm sure the Bod would have insider knowledge that placees and other sholders haven't gotAlso directors prefer options as no downside!!

This is what i have been told sam

Normally a placing document would contain whatever price sensitive information, or unpublished financial data, or whatever, might exist - and therefore the playing field would be level and there should be nothing left 'inside' to prevent a director from joining in to the investment .....

So we have to assume that jt not taking part in the placing was nothing to do with being in a closed period or him being party to secret info as it would have to have been declared in the placing documents.

The last RNS in Metal Tiger was directors participating in the placing the day after they updated the market!

I have a good friend who is a corporate lawyer, i have just emailed him about directors not being allowed to partake in their own placings if in negotiations....seems like another unlikely as most directors are in negotiations most of the time and by the very nature of their job would be in possession of price sensitive material of some sort at all times.

We have had nothing from management on this at all, I don't know why he is pinning his hopes on it I would hope that pending news will confirm that BVI are out of it full stop and hopefully we will have no back street BEE company involved!
2 trading days to find out LOL!
