11/9/2015 20:27 | shaws67 - I've bought in so obviously I think it's a buy, but then I have thought that with this stock on a number of occasions and been wrong. The volume and the long base forming this time does add a bit more weight to it so it, hoping it is. Expected a small pull back before the main rally if we get one, bound to be 'steps' up on the chart on any recovery imo. Mining sector firming a bit too which adds cred imo. All imo CR | cockneyrebel
11/9/2015 15:54 | Down on sh1t volume, up on strong volume. shaws...I don't see an uptrend yet, but my own personal guess is one will will become apparent shortly. I'd say from the chart that the bottom's in. Take a look at the weekly and monthly charts (not just the daily), don't just look at the candles but look at RSI or stochastics (both say oversold, take a look at MACD on both weekly and monthly. They've turned in the right direction. No guarantees and my personal opinion only but I'm long and reasonably confident. I will add if an uptrend becomes apparent. Of course if the price drops I'll bottle it and sell ASAP but I do think there's more upside than down. No advice intended, do your own research. | bugle4
10/9/2015 19:39 | Hi CR Would you say this is a buy? Looking at the charts, I think it needs to break out of 182p to confirm uptrend ? Any suggestions? Thanks. | shaws67
10/9/2015 11:58 | I don't watch copper for a clue to Fenner's performance related to copper Alphahunter. Copper is the indicator to global demand for everything imo. If I saw copper bottom then I'd expect the other minerals to start to follow. Copper's more an indicator to global demand to me - electrical and plumbing etc. Once copper is on the way up then demand for consumer goods is usually strengthening so more a guide to growth than most other indicators imo. All a bit muddied by China tho this time around as they went bonkers on all minerals and now aren't buying much of them at all in comparison. So while demand in the west may be increasing, that in asia is slowing. Once Copper bottoms it may indicate an end in the slow down of demand from asia and copper in a general up-trend for som time if all the world is back in expansion. Just my mind trying to make sense of data far greater than it can cope with :-) CR | cockneyrebel
10/9/2015 11:49 | Yeap. Confirmed that Standard was the seller. Re copper, FENR is mostly Coal, then Iron Ore(which are interlinked from a demand point of view) and then Copper. The pick-up in Copper price is thanks to GLEN's stopping the prod at its two mines in Afr. Will that impact FENR? They sell in Afr, they have GLEN as a client obviously, an analyst or a more active PI than me would pick up the phone and say, hey, are your belts used by GLEN in their copper mines in Afr? What exposure, etc,... So I would be more encline to be long a copper producer - but not in FENR. But hey, I'm bear on the stock, you are bull, it was a falling knive, found a plateau (a tray as the French would say), may form a bowl in which case I may have to cover and fork out. All the right ustensils to invest in the market. CSX yesterday, about volume of coal transportated in the US. EDIT: Afr for SA | alphahunter
09/9/2015 13:27 | RWC Asset Management have been increasing holding and helping the rally by the look of it. CR | cockneyrebel
08/9/2015 21:50 | Fenner is leveraged to any stability or rise in commodities Alphahunter - and the shareprice will rally before you see the prices stabilise imo. In fact I've been watching FENR to gauge my buy into commodities and FENR has manage to stabilise since July. Copper looks like it might have bottomed too imo, looking at the recent chart consolidation - but that could change. All imo. CR | cockneyrebel
08/9/2015 20:54 | A bid? Like in the talks about GE oil&gas bidding three years ago? Nah... Fenner looks like a holding co with unrelated businesses now. A break-up may be or spin-off at best. Although holding cos usually trade at a discount to their sum of the parts. This one doesn't. Even less so on statutory earnings, e.g after write off and restructuring cost of recent acquisitions: Norway, Australia. But we've got a bottom indeed, soon to be called a bowl if the price flexes up. I am curious about Standard Life: we're they in today's large transaction? | alphahunter
08/9/2015 19:54 | Yes... We could finally have seen the bottom here and FENR will rise from now on. Fingers crossed for sure. Onwards and upwards! | lauders
08/9/2015 19:33 | Got paid the divi today, totally forgot about it so a nice surprise! | plentymorefish
08/9/2015 19:05 | A bid target at these levels imo. CR | cockneyrebel

08/9/2015 15:41 | Fenner plc 19.9% Potential Upside Indicated by Liberum Capital Posted by: Amilia Stone 8th September 2015 Fenner plc with EPIC/TICKER LON:FENR has had its stock rating noted as ‘Reiterates&rs | bugle4
08/9/2015 13:08 | Had FENR on watch for a while. Haven't been involved since the halcyon days of 2010-11. However, the statement was the most solid for a while, and I am minded to gamble on us being near the bottom of the recent Commodities fall. Had a nibble for now and will see how it goes. | connor23
08/9/2015 12:44 | Chart bottomed? free stock charts from uk.advfn.com 7% yield here now and the cash statement today was rather better than forecast. Divi fully covered. No nasty surprises in the results for a change either. Large volume going through today. All imo CR | cockneyrebel
08/9/2015 10:15 | Some big buys here this morning following the reassuring pre-close Trading Statement. | nigelmoat
04/9/2015 18:32 | Pretty sharp announcement from one of the coal mining OEMs yesterday. Not to mention the Chapter 11 on 3rd August. What is holding up FENR's share price is the uncovered dividend. Still short here. | alphahunter
04/9/2015 12:27 | This stock is a disaster. Whatever the claims about replacement belts it makes no difference. The mining cycle goes south -Fenner profits dive-the share price tanks. Its been the case in all previous cycles. Claims that this time its going to be different were just a load of hot air. | meijiman
04/9/2015 11:59 | The Divi is paid on Monday if there's anyone left in here! | hmrc inspector
14/8/2015 11:16 | Tipped in the Telegraph the other day. "Another idea is Fenner [LON:FENR], which makes conveyor belts used in the mining industry to get coal and iron ore to the surface. Sure, times are very tough as commodity prices tumble – Fenner slumped to a first-half loss and warned on full-year profits last month. However, about 85pc of Fenner’s revenue comes from consumable parts, so unless the mine actually shuts, there will still be demand. Fenner should be able to come through these tough times. Fenner shares price in a lot of bad news, having more than halved from early 2014 and now offer a prospective dividend yield of 6.7pc. The company generates enough cash to cover the dividend payments for now." | imelda
09/8/2015 01:00 | Dare I risk saying we have seen the bottom here? Famous last words, but the trend has been better over the last few sessions! | lauders
03/8/2015 21:33 | Bit of a shocker today... | alphahunter |
