Steel in oversupply. Roman et al own too mich of the company. Russian sanctions. Still, at this price I m tempted to enter for a long ardous haul, I think will bear fruit.

This company is one of the worlds lowest cost steel makers, when the steel price recovers (which it will) Evraz will be in a great position to be making big profits. IMO this has got to be the low point, assuming Russia/Ukraine doesn't kick off. Well, past the low point if you know what I mean. Unsure of the ramifications if Roman decides he wants it all to himself though.

full year results and IMS in April , plus a campaign to give some general awareness has been muted I believe...could be a great recovery share. For me it ticks the steel producer box - are there many steel producers of this size at this price, answer: no.

imvhpo, imo

This is going on my watch list. I m not sure of how investable it is due to the free float, purely apart from the macro economics, we have the geo politics to worry on.

Could be a massive return though.

Hopefully, we picked the bottom. I may add to my 62.10s.

Back inside lower bollinger band on the daily which is definitely positive and we all know about that RSI - it's whacked.

Would like to see a close above 65p+

Pity about the free float.

In what way...?

I understand there is a theory that its good to have massive free float - like say a BP or a VOD. But those shares are what I call "steady Eddie" type quality shares.

EVR is similar in a way to EMG - in that it has a knack of doing 3% intra day moves - either way. Perhaps the lack of free float exaggerates this factor.

sliced my 61.09 top up for some nice free shares at 65.31, trade time 08.05.

Nice quick rise but cannot help but feeling this "crisis" will play out a bit more and possibly bring some more price volatility. On the radio whilst driving home today I heard "shots were fired". What happens over-night ??

obviously a high risk punt.

$14bn turnover.
net assets $5.4bn
a huge and important steel and rail company.
roman abramovich a major shareholder, with all his inside contacts and a personal pal of putin.

the current situation drives the company to below £1bn value. crazy.
contrarians have to be tempted, this could be a multi bagger if things get sorted.

from LSE:

"Today 16:09 BTFATH1Bargain 61.65 No Opinion

This share price is an absolute bargain, Russia will never enforce military action they just want to show the US that they can hold their ground. As for evr what a ridiculous over reaction even fxpo which has all it's assets in the Ukraine has bounced up 10% from the low in the last 2 hours. Looking forward to April when the results are out showing reduced costs, lower employee numbers and a profit for the year. This will be over a £1 in mid April. Gla all "

I agree just trebled up. Price paid was 61.09. Average now 70. Abramovich has added recently - as have Lanebrook as a whole.

This Ukraine situation will blow over, non-story imo.
