"I have a 90% chance of winning the 1,500 meters" wrote Steve Ovett in an article he did for one of Britain's Sunday papers just before the start of the Olympics. After he won the 800 meter Olympic gold, beating world-record holder Sebastian Coe, Ovett stated that he would not only win the 1,500 meter race, but would beat the world record by as much as four seconds. Ovett had won 45 straight 1,500 meter races since May 1977. In contrast Coe had competed in only 8 1,500 meter races between 1976–1980. Coe won the race, holding off Ovett in the final lap. Ovett finished third.

1984 Olympics were held in Los Angeles......I don't think they boycotted their own games.

these windbag politicians will do nothing. how can they? the yanks invaded iraq (twice) to sort out their oil interests. invaded afghanistan for terrorism. funny really, the americans boycotted the 1984 olympics when russia invaded afghanistan for the same reason. then the yanks armed the afghans up to the hilt with stinger missiles...that were used against themselves years later. it is a funny old world, this will go away.

Steel in oversupply. Roman et al own too mich of the company. Russian sanctions. Still, at this price I m tempted to enter for a long ardous haul, I think will bear fruit.

This company is one of the worlds lowest cost steel makers, when the steel price recovers (which it will) Evraz will be in a great position to be making big profits. IMO this has got to be the low point, assuming Russia/Ukraine doesn't kick off. Well, past the low point if you know what I mean. Unsure of the ramifications if Roman decides he wants it all to himself though.

full year results and IMS in April , plus a campaign to give some general awareness has been muted I believe...could be a great recovery share. For me it ticks the steel producer box - are there many steel producers of this size at this price, answer: no. imvhpo, imo

100,000 employees, now paid in weak currencies. a cap of around £1bn? must be worth many times more.

This is going on my watch list. I m not sure of how investable it is due to the free float, purely apart from the macro economics, we have the geo politics to worry on. Could be a massive return though. Mmmmmm

Hopefully, we picked the bottom. I may add to my 62.10s. Back inside lower bollinger band on the daily which is definitely positive and we all know about that RSI - it's whacked. Would like to see a close above 65p+ GLA twitter: @barondaytrading

racg 4 Mar'14 - 20:36 - 173 of 173 0 0 Pity about the free float. __________________________________ In what way...? I understand there is a theory that its good to have massive free float - like say a BP or a VOD. But those shares are what I call "steady Eddie" type quality shares. EVR is similar in a way to EMG - in that it has a knack of doing 3% intra day moves - either way. Perhaps the lack of free float exaggerates this factor.
