19/1/2012 22:51 | silverfern, I agree. I have a pretty widespread portfolio but was always looking for 'the next big thing'. After a few of these turned into disasters, I reviewed my portfolio last year and asked myself 'why not add to those shares that HAVE been a success, if the fundamentals still make them seem cheap?'. DPLM fitted that bill and I added to my original holding (158p) at 299p. So much of this game is psychology, eh? | jeffian
19/1/2012 18:04 | chris why don't you do what I did today and buy anyway - I am an existing holder but if I didn't think they were going to go higher I would sell. I sold in 2008 and failed to buy back in all the way up from 100p til last year. Good luck | silverfern
18/1/2012 22:07 | Bit gutted i didn't buy in when i had the (many - arghh!) chances around 300. This is clearly a quality co and if i did ever get that opportunity again on some wild sell off, I'd try not to miss that opportunity again! good luck to holders long-term, a great stock imo. | chrisb1103
18/1/2012 19:34 | Telegraph market report: "...Diploma, which makes technical products for businesses, including those in the life sciences industry, eased 4.2 to 380.1p, despite seeing revenues rise 16pc during the first quarter usually the quietest time of year for the company." | philanderer
18/1/2012 09:58 | I suspect this is just short term profit taking as up ~25% since November. | quantumx
18/1/2012 09:26 | And it drops 4%. Top up time? | deadly
18/1/2012 09:23 | Downgrade by Numis from 'buy' to 'add' , target increased from 410p to 425p though :-S | philanderer
18/1/2012 08:54 | Shore Capital reiterating their 'buy'. | philanderer
18/1/2012 08:15 | Yep, pretty solid. | jeffian
18/1/2012 07:59 | yes all looks good | silverfern
17/1/2012 22:43 | IMS due tomorrow. It looks as if something may have leaked! | jeffian
13/1/2012 16:13 | philanderer. No further target prices - to be honest I don't remember who predicted the 404p (not me!) - but I did read it somewhere in the last month. All in the same ballparkwhich is reassuring. | quantumx
13/1/2012 15:21 | quantumx ,these are the most recent I`ve found, have you any others ? thanks. 30th nov Panmure buy tp 400p 21st nov Altium buy tp 415p 21st nov Numis buy tp 410p 14th nov Singer buy tp 414p | philanderer
13/1/2012 13:51 | The target of 404p seems easily achieveable, even in these turbulent markets. | quantumx
13/1/2012 13:29 | I bought more this week too | silverfern
13/1/2012 11:31 | Dipped my toe in yesterday for the first time..... so far so good :-) Luck to all holders. | philanderer
12/1/2012 09:04 | Found it next Wednesday 18th Jan. Fancy this to do well on US recovery / strong dollar. Added and watch the run up with interest. | painter
12/1/2012 07:31 | Quiet here should we not get prelims soon? | painter
29/12/2011 12:05 | Recent target of 404p seems easily achievable for this solid company in the near term. Happy to hold. | quantumx
13/12/2011 18:29 | So many appear to think there is a pot of gold awaiting for them in the China market, the reverse is often the case. | essentialinvestor
13/12/2011 18:08 | I'm sure that is right- this is an investment in a business, not a take-over. We'll buy your US arm now invest it in the Chinese business and grow it. | silverfern
13/12/2011 11:29 | Hi, silverfern, "...it gets a foot into CHina..." Well less of a foot; more like an inch! (10% holding) Interesting that they didn't swallow up the whole lot leaving Mr R Vroom and Mrs S Xiao with 90% of the Chinese business. I assume the plan is to leave the entrepreneurial founders to build up the Chinese end without risk/expense to Diploma then buy them out if it works? | jeffian
13/12/2011 07:50 | A small outlay but it gets a foot into CHina and is immediately earnings enhancing. Looks good to me | silverfern
02/12/2011 23:35 | Jeffan - thank you for your reply. We seem to have an interest in the same sort of companies! If you could buy this company with a good chunk of debt I don't think you need synergies to make it a good deal | sleepy |
