Indeed Masarap, I suppose I/we try to look for logical reasons behind their actions which is probably the wrong approach.

If they thought they had a chance of winning why show themselves up ?
I thought their culture was all about face saving but I see a lot of self harm and them humiliating themselves ?

I suppose my point is that even if they thought they had a good chance of wining, they can't be sure and so couldn't risk the possibility of untimely bad news!

Frak, I think the current status is just as bad. ROI are promoting investment opportunities to UK businesses whilst simultaneously violating the Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT). The very same Treaty meant to protect investors.

From the RNS re. ROI's default "Further, as Indonesia's consent to this ICSID arbitration was conveyed by treaty - in the case of Churchill, the UK BIT and in the case of Planet Mining, the Australia BIT - Indonesia's default is also a direct violation of the terms of the two BITs."

If there is a book called How To Make Trading Friends and Influence People then I don't think those handling the ROI case have read it!

Indeed Debbie, so do I. I'm pretty sure they know it will be a lose for them!

I'm certainly betting heavily on it!

FRAK re your post above

I suppose Joko's visit to the UK next week raises the question as to whether the ROI missed payment on purpose hoping it would induce a delay thereby ensuring a verdict on the forgery wasn't released during his stay.

That would be if it were a win for us and a lose for them so I hope it is !

Can you imagine the verdict popping out 10 minutes after he's just promoted the idea Indonesia is open to UK investors!

Hope not. but they'd probably get away with it!

Why is lily mad pat? He made a prediction based on his opinion, either wrong or right, mad is a bit strong. You said 30p you were wrong, not mad.

Stephen (2727)

Yes - it's unfortunately what happens when a share price is volatile and money is changing hands among impatient people.

The good news is though it matters not a jot to ICSID and what's coming next for ROI.
