Some people "Don't go" specifically because they are afraid of the weight they will put on.

Thanks. I could have reduced the 190 pages to just 2 words."Eat Less".

Well done Phil. It looks like an astute move (so far!). Good luck to your partner with the book.

Bought yesterday, fwiw, after finally getting around to it as my partner has just written a book on cruising without gaining weight so it prompted me to take another look at Carnival and other quoted cruise lines. Results early March.

FT is reporting that the shares fell as a result of Zika concerns.

Cruise ships and airlines were all hit apparently, so nothing company specific so far as I know.

Best,

Dave

Broadwood - " One couple on our dinner table were on their 47th - and had booked two more for next year "

Thanks for your feedback and apologies for late reply, these are on my watch list so I don't tend to look in every day and of course Xmas got in the way a tad.

Anyway, bit of a price drop today so dipped the toe in as they say. Yield not high but the market seems to be expanding. Not sure if I'd go on a cruise but dam sure SWMBO would not so unlikely we'll be sharing a table with you ha ha.

They are not short of confidence in the future market ;

Four new ships, to be built for Costa Asia, P&O Cruises Australia and Princess
Cruises, will cater to growing cruise markets and enhance industry-leading
fleet

World's largest travel and leisure company has 17 new ships scheduled for
delivery between 2016 and 2020

No resistance at £39 either ; where and when will this rise stop?

Well , that was a satisfactory pre Xmas close at £38 ; would not have predicted that a year ago at £26.

This was only our second cruise in eight years.

But there are plenty of multiple cruisers. One couple on our dinner table were on their 47th - and had booked two more for next year.

I'm thinking customer satisfaction levels are very high. You soon notice the difference when confronted once again with UK reality.

Back in again last Friday on those results. Agreed, oil price has been the factor for over a year.

Actually took a Carnival cruise this year. Business seems to be booming.

£37 breached ; suspect this is mainly about fuel prices ultimately.

One of the best performers in my portfolio as it tickles £35 again ; largely about oil price I presume.
