Cambridge Mineral Resources plc / Ticker: CMR / Index: AIM / Sector: Mining & Exploration

4 September 2008
Cambridge Mineral Resources plc ('CMR' or 'the Company')
                                           AGM Statement

Cambridge Mineral Resources plc, the AIM listed mining exploration and production company
primarily targeting precious metals in South America, will hold its Annual General Meeting today
and Colin Andrew, Managing Director, will make the following statement:

"Cambridge Mineral Resources has continued to make progress in its strategy of advancing and
adding value to its portfolio of mineral projects and becoming a producer of precious metals. In
particular, the drive towards precious metal production of 100,000 ozs gold per annum in South
America has been advanced and we expect to commence production at our first gold mine in Colombia
our Quintana project in Colombia later in 2008.

"Despite considerable turbulence and difficulties in the financial markets, we succeeded in
financing Quintana, and also obtained a conditional finance facility for the development of two
further gold mines in that country. The Board sees that the Company remains well positioned to
capitalise on the strong metal prices that the global markets have experienced over the past year,
and that its projects offer considerable value to our shareholders.

"I would also like to thank all shareholders for their continued support during this exciting
period in their Company's development, and also to my colleagues and advisers whose hard work has
helped position the Company to join the ranks of junior gold and silver producers in the next few
months."

At the meeting, Colin Andrew will also present an update on progress made at the Company's
Quintana project in Columbia. This will include a number of slides showing the construction of
the mine and other activities, and will be available on the Company's website shortly.

                                             ** ENDS **
