Langostino you have been posting similar links for the past twelve months but only those from which you construe a negative interpretation but never the positive ones.Presumably the Minister is happy that the Company has commenced construction?

Piedro - yes, I do read Spanish. In fact, I once translated Lope de Vega.

langostino - I expect them to rns significant mine construction events, mine operation permits {when and if they are approved or rejected}, technical reports, environmental studies, legal injunctions and the like but not teacup readings.

As the minister suggested - wait till the report is published before passing judgement.

Piedro - Do you also expect them to only rns the mine construction and mine operation permits if/when they are they are approved?

Hi Piedro! Langostino has history here - posting articles in Spanish, usually from obscure websites, and then "mistranslating" their meaning to mislead any investors who don't speak Spanish. It's fairly dishonest and disgusting, but it doesn't seem to bother him. Just as it doesn't seem to bother him that the Spanish state would be sued in the European courts if it went back on its given word.

langostino - I do not think there is any need for the company to issue an RNS until the report has been published

bwr - if you had read that article properly you might have detected a subtle rejection of the 'contra' argument

Thank you langostino for the article

The minister {Energy and Tourism} does commit himself but suggests waiting for the technical report from the National Security Council

Hi Langostino! It's pathetic - leave it off. We know you're an anti-nuclear campaigner but uranium mining is perfectly safe. Perhaps you'd like to pay a visit to the mine area and explain to the workers why you think they should all lose their jobs?

I would expect investors here to be interested to learn that the Spanish Energy Minister is not prepared to comment on the project until he has received a report from the Nuclear Safety Council, which I have not seen mentioned in an rns from the company.

Can anyone give me an order of magnitude of how much uranium is used in one reactor ?
Tens, hundreds, thousands of tons ? I am totally clueless.

Japan's Nuclear Regulatory (NRA) approved a draft report confirming that GE-owned Global Nuclear Fuel-Japan Co. (GNF-J) in Yokosuka City, Kanagawa prefecture, is compatible with new safety standards. This marks the first time that a nuclear fuel cycle production facility has been cleared by the NRA to operate since the new regulator was established in 2012 in the wake of the Fukushima disaster. In 2013, the NRA published new regulatory standards for nuclear fuel production facilities, requiring measures against severe accidents as well as terrorism mitigation strategies.

Podcast re uranium upside, not BKY specific but they do get a mention:-

Hans Peter Zihlmann has been a portfolio manager for a long time and remains excited about uranium even after its good performance over the past year. His Timeless Uranium Fund is up 34% since uranium bottomed in November, and from the beginning of this year it is up 40%. His fund covers the entire uranium sector, with exploration currently being most attractive. Recent days have shown a drop in the price of uranium with a corresponding drop in stocks, Peter remains unconcerned as demand is increasing due to China, India and Russia building reactors. Since companies cannot be profitable in production due to the uranium price being so low, he remains very bullish long term.

He is quite optimistic about the potential of the coming cycle and expects to see uranium at $60 and above, previous market cycle highs are likely to be tested. Several uranium company stocks are discussed that have a focus on exploration as they have seen great performance. This is all explained in the latest podcast from Palidsade Radio.

Copied from the other board, with many thanks to Baht:

The month of February saw 4mlbs U3O8 equivalent change hands in the uranium spot market in 27 transactions, TradeTech reports. Utilities were largely absent on the buy-side. February’s closing price of US$23.75/lb compares to US$24.50/lb at the end of January but the first three days of March have taken that price back up to US$25.00/lb.

TradeTech has lifted its mid-term price indicator by US$1.00 to US$28.75/lb, leaving its long-term price unchanged at US$35.00/lb.

China expects to complete work on five reactors this yearIn a recently released report, China's National Energy Administration (NEA) stated that the nation expects construction to be completed on five reactors before the end of 2017. In addition, construction is expected to commence on eight reactors, and planning is expected to be completed for another eight units. The five reactors scheduled for completion this year include Sanmen 1 and Haiyang 1, which are both Westinghouse AP1000 units along with Taishan 1, a European Pressurized Reactor. The other two units scheduled for completion, Fuqing 4 and Yangjiang 4, are both CPR-1000 reactors. The NEA's report did not specify the names of reactors scheduled to start construction in 2017. However, it listed plans to begin preparatory work for eight reactors including: Sanmen 3 and 4, Ningde 5 and 6, two new units at the Zhangzhou site, and another two units at the Huizhou site. China also intends to move forward with preliminary work for demonstration small modular reactors along with technology projects that could aid in the development of a high-temperature gas-cooled reactor at the Shidaowan site.

Charles Core really? Or just green Fake News. You are wasting your time posting green propaganda on this site. There are more Nuclear reactors being built around the world today (over 65 in construction) than ever before and Japan is rapidly turning its reactors back on - it will have 9 reactors turned on by the end of this year.

Here's a link to some great research from CantorCanada on long term uranium price trends, which confirms the basic Berekeley Energia investment thesis. U3O8 prices are only going one way - up!

Lagostino - this is ridiculous and, frankly, fake news. Retortillo is fully permitted and well supported locally. Quite simply, if we are not going to fry the climate over the next 50 years, we need nuclear energy.

I have been reading and watching you tube videos about the spread of nuclear contamination throughout the Pacific from Fukishima. It is a huge ecological disaster and it is not going away, it's getting worse in fact. They can't even send in robots without them getting fried. There are several other reactors in earthquake zones and I believe there will be a public outcry against nuclear energy over the coming years. I thought this was a good investment but my conscience can't justify it so I have taken my money off the table. Good luck to everyone who remains.

@Laptop15 - "A big tell was the director selling out at recent highs"

Are you referring to PA selling 135k "On-market trade to meet personal tax obligations" ?

If so, it's hardly what could be termed as 'selling out' !

Hi Laptop15! I agree that this is a great buying opportunity for newcomers to this share. But I think you're wrong about a possible placing - the remaining finance needed for mine construction should be easy enough to raise from a combination of commercial debt + strategic investment from an end-user (CNNC?).

Placing ahoy I'm afraid, there could well be some kind of strategic investment around the 45-50p mark imo. I'm invested here since 23p so I'm not bothered but the share price is heading down to a level that a deal can be struck with a big investor of management fund I believe. A big tell was the director selling out at recent highs. On a positive note a great investment opportunity for people not already in.
