08/9/2016 06:03 | Hi Paulypilot, Fully concur. Also a growing industry with more and more events and tours being staged around the world, both indoor and outdoor. Many on a massive scale using new audio-visual techniques and technologies. Light-mapping is a major innovation which Avesco have wholeheartedly embraced and now their new venture into the field of VIDEO SPORTS ADJUDICATION will keep Avesco at the forefront of developments. The company continues to grow. For me, Avesco has been and will be a long-term hold. A core holding. The Founding Executive Chairman and top Directors are all highly motivated and incentivised. ALL IMO. DYOR. QP | quepassa
08/9/2016 04:40 | I love the pullbacks on this as it is only takes a bad day and with no news it pulls back. If your prepared to hold and add it has been great knowing that the U.S. Side is going great guns. | deanowls
08/9/2016 03:15 | Hi QP, I agree completely. When the Chairman sold about £1m of shares to other Directors, at about 175p in Jun 2015, that to me was a massive bull signal. I've held since about 100p, so all good. Locked in a divi yield of over 6% back then. Even better that the debt was largely cleared from freehold sale. Just seems a nice long term hold, in my view. Sadly, IG are closing only on this one. Such a pity. I would have loved to buy more. Spreadex will allow you to buy though. Might top up. PER of 11, with no debt, really isn't pricey IMO. Regards, Paul. | paulypilot

07/9/2016 10:42 | Is the upgrade to 9 million PBT or after tax? cheers | yamaha865
07/9/2016 10:10 | Great thanks....with decent yield and sterling still helping am happy to continue to hold and add on weakness....dyor | qs99
07/9/2016 09:11 | Finn cap have increased their profit estimates from 8 million to 9 million. | battlebus2
05/9/2016 15:37 | That's right QP, the chairman down that amount thanks to selling them down! | deanowls
05/9/2016 11:53 | let's hope so QP....looks like it is getting some decent traction re share purchases IMO.... | qs99
05/9/2016 10:04 | Top three Directors now more than 50% up on their collective June 2015 £900k purchase of Avesco shares at the then full market price. Well done . They deserve it. But my guess is that their aim is not to see just a 50% hike in those prescient Director Buying actions and signals. ALL IMO. DYOR. QP | quepassa
05/9/2016 08:37 | just out of the blocks this morning....looking forward to breaking £3 and beyond as people wake up to this share... | qs99
03/9/2016 20:17 | Hi QuePAsa & Sailing John, Very useful posts above, flagging the Edison note, and the history of out-performance against expectations. Avesco has been one of my favourite holdings for about 2 years now, and I agree with your 400p price target. The business is clearly undervalued by a considerable margin, and I think the US business alone could be worth double (or more?) than the entire group market cap. One has to be patient with this share, so it's just tucked away & forgotten about for me, but with excellent results so far. Seasonality from the old good-bad year rotation, seems to have gone now too - even better. I wish I could find more companies like this one - it seems overlooked, but a very nice niche business. Low PER, nice divi yield, and a bulletproof balance sheet, almost debt-free now. Lovely! Regards, Paul. | paulypilot
03/9/2016 14:44 | Yes 400p would be just 10* current year PBT with expectations of 10%/annum growth. And with a balance sheet stacked with Assets valued at current Market Cap it doesn't appear stretched to me. | sailing john
03/9/2016 14:13 | I have a 400p target for what its worth. | red army
03/9/2016 14:11 | QP - Thanks for the Edison update Edison now forecast Net Assets at 30/9/16 (ex intangibles) of over £48m and £53m the following year vs a Market Cap of £51.5m at 270p. So MC still only reflects value of tangible assets - liabilities PBT (norm)for 2016 forecast at £7.6m rising to £8.4m the following year Consequently I have raised my target MC to £75m just shy of 400p/share Perhaps by this time next year? 03/9/2016 13:50 | I like a cautious business that consistently beats expectations Such a breath of fresh air compared to most on AIM Year End Trading Statement history (YE is Sept) Nov 2011 - "will be comfortably ahead of the current market expectations." Dec 2012 - "will be ahead of the current market expectations." 2013 - no TS - busy with return of £31m cash to shareholders + 30% buyback Dec 2014 - "will be ahead of current expectations" Mar 2015 - "comfortably ahead of their previous expectations." Sept 2016 - "comfortably ahead of their previous expectations." | sailing john
02/9/2016 17:03 | Avesco Group - Olympic Gold. Valuation: Marked Discount. Another insightful, well-written and concise piece from Edison Research:- ALL IMO> DYOR. QP | quepassa
01/9/2016 22:19 | But look back at the share price performance taking into account divs and special divs it has been a superb share to hold. So I for one can ignore the lack of communication. I would much rather they got on and run their business | the big fella
01/9/2016 21:00 | agree completely cfro - the lack of news flow here is poor; I sold a third of mine recently purely because of that; of course regretting it now but one of those things. | janeann
01/9/2016 18:00 | Bought back in today on the back of the RNS. Thanks to interceptor2 who highlighted it to me. I hadn't noticed it otherwise. Really happy to be invested alongside interceptor, battlebus and Sailing John etc.... I have to say that there are a few 'issues' i have with this company and i have never really been a huge fan. Some main reasons are: the business mix (which mainly relies on CT to deliver the growth as the other divisions are very up and down), the chairmans large controlling shareholding, the lack of newsflow between results and no contact with small shareholders (can be a frustrating share to hold). | cfro
01/9/2016 18:00 | A brief comment. | michaelmouse
01/9/2016 16:40 | AVS are probably not sure how far ahead of estimates they will be, because year end is 30th September and they still have the Paralympics to supply equipment for. As mentioned AVS don't issue many updates, but I wonder if they might issue another one after the year end? | interceptor2 |
