Now that is what I call a more than fair offer, unlike many many that I might mention. (LSIC comes to mind most recently)

Interesting - looks like it could be 20%. From the FT..

Earlier on Friday, his economic team vowed to push forward with a campaign promise to launch a $1tn fiscal stimulus plan and cut corporate taxes by as much as 20 percentage points.

Under Mr Trump’s tax cuts, outlined by Mr Scaramucci, corporate tax rates would be slashed from 35 per cent — “the highest in the developed world”. Although Mr Trump would like to see the rate lowered to 15 per cent, Mr Scaramucci said that was “a negotiable starting point”.

Thanks blueeyes, let's hope we're right.

Yamaha - am I right in thinking the corporation tax rate is 35% in the states? Have to say it's something I should probably pay more attention to.

Trump supposedly plans to cut corporate tax to 15%- could be transformative to Avesco's post tax profits?

Alphabeta4 welcome. We obviously hold some same shares as I recognize our name. I don't post that much. I topped up yesterday on the further fall first thing too, a good move I believe and we'll see.

Room for one more? Used the drop to take an initial position.

FWIW my calcs are of £3m net debt H1 add the £5m from the business sale add c£3m of net cash from H2 gives £5m net cash for a 2017 cash adjusted PE of exactly 10 for 2017 (based on 27p forecast EPS which IMO is liable to upgrades). Far too cheap given the growth within Creative Technology and the business becoming a higher rated services company.

Yes some BBC commentators were nearly in tears this morning as their Guardian reader bias was left in the dust. Very much a reaction against incumbent political systems.
Farage must have a big grin on his face.

I wrote this on the Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust thread just now.

It is however also very applicable to Avesco who have increasingly significant USA operations and income/profitability from those North American operations:-

I mentioned some time ago that I thought Donald Trump would win.

My expectation is that we will within a short space of time see a Wall Street rally of massive proportions on the back of the election of what must be the most fervently pro-business President of the USA ever to be elected.

The great wins of Farage and Trump point unequivocally to change in the air and Western civilisation wanting a new political reality. Out with the old baggage.

My guess is also that the EEC will now fall apart in the fullness of time.

As far as ScoMo is concerned, my personal view is that this news is highly, highly, highly beneficial given their North American weightings.

Well done, Mr. Trump.

ALL IMO. DYOR.
